A European legal sports betting operator is undergoing a series of changes.
BetVictor — now known as BVGroup — has unveiled a rebrand that will better align the online gambling company with its operations as a business-to-business and multi-brand enterprise.
“During our 75+ years in business, we have established ourselves as one of the most reputable gambling companies in the world,” said CEO Andreas Meinrad in a statement. “Our new identity, BVGroup, helps us define ourselves more effectively, highlighting how far the company has come from its bookmaker beginnings.”
As part of the rebrand, BVGroup has changed its logo and corporate website to go along with its new name. Despite the changes, the company will continue to deliver services to its flagship BetVictor brand and Wiz Slots — a website that offers a multitude of slot-related casino games.
BVGroup will also continue to serve its partner brands under the revamp, which include combat sports-focused Parimatch UK, Germany-based BildBet, Heart Bingo, and talkSPORT BET.
BVGroup and Canada
BVGroup’s rebrand comes as one of the company’s online betting sites takes advantage of an emerging market. The BetVictor Sportsbook has gained market access in Ontario sports betting, which launched in April 2022. Since the launch, Canada’s most populous province has awarded online wagering licenses to more than 35 operators. In 2022, Ontario generated $1.4 billion in revenue behind more than $35 billion in total wagering from those operators. The favorable results included online sports betting, casino gaming, and poker.
BetVictor has taken steps to separate itself from the rest of the pack in a competitive Canadian market. In May, the sportsbook secured a partnership with the Canadian Elite Basketball League. As part of the deal, BetVictor has been named the league’s official sports betting partner for the 2023 season. The partnership also includes branding across media platforms.
