Genius Sports believes a “groundbreaking” innovation is going to optimize sportsbook operators’ profits and minimize losses.
After recently introducing BetVision to the sports betting industry, the tech company announced Tuesday that it is now offering its partners “Edge,” an automated pricing tool that recalculates odds at a fixture and market-type level while accounting for real-time liability across every wagering event offered.
Genius Sports says this new product is one-of-a-kind, and early adopter partners have seen increased margins by 18%.
“We’re excited to roll this groundbreaking solution out across our sportsbook partners worldwide, transforming bottom-line performance.”
- Thomas Holland, Product Director at Genius Sports
Maximum margin
Edge could be a “game-changer” for sportsbook traders as a fully managed or standalone solution to alter in-house risk management capabilities. The new system will integrate individual bet data and can be used with bet-builder platforms.
Edge may even bridge a big gap for operators. Instead of fixing odds themselves and limiting players in the process, Genius Sports’ product correlates every price recalculation for all related betting markets, saving time and guessing that’s solved with automatic optimization.
“The explosion of betting content means sportsbooks offer hundreds of thousands of events every year,” Holland said. “This makes it almost impossible for trading teams to truly optimize pricing and ensure they are squeezing maximum margin out of every bet, especially where turnover is highest.”
Growing innovation
Genius Sports is a data, technology, and media company that’s partnered with some of the biggest sportsbooks in the industry. It helps power products for FanDuel, DraftKings, bet365, Caesars, WynnBet, BetMGM, 888 Sport, Betway, and PointsBet.
Genius Sports is also partnered with over 400 sports organizations, including the NFL, NCAA, NASCAR, and EPL, among others.
The company broke new ground in 2023 with BetVision, which allows bettors to use a single platform to view the lowest latency stream of NFL games, find real-time data, and control broadcast enhancements to place wagers. FanDuel, Caesars, BetRivers, and Fanatics Sportsbook all debuted the product last fall.
In November 2023, third-quarter numbers saw Genius report that BetVision partners saw an 87% increase in total handle per streamer in the first season, and in-play wagering grew by 121%.
