New York Sportsbooks Generate $400M Handle for 26th Consecutive Week

Revenue for the week ending Feb. 23 reached $47.7 million, putting operator profits over $40 million for the fifth time in seven weeks.

The Empire State’s nine online sports betting operators enjoyed a 44.5% week-over-week revenue increase despite slightly fewer dollars wagered during the week ending Feb. 23. 

The New York Gaming Commission reported that $428.2 million was wagered during the second week without the NFL. The return of the NBA from the All-Star break and a boost from the NHL’s 4 Nations Face-Off kept the handle above $400 million for the 26th consecutive week. 

Revenue for the week ending Feb. 23 reached $47.7 million, putting operator profits over $40 million for the fifth time in seven weeks. The 11.1% hold was up from the previous week’s 7.6% win rate. It’s the second time in three weeks that the hold went over double digits. 

Compared to the same week in 2024, the handle rose 3.4% while revenue increased by 28.8%.

DraftKings hits 12% win rate

FanDuel won back 11.7% of the $166.4 million wagered during the week ending Feb. 23. The $19.5 million in gross revenue was up more than $2 million from the previous week. 

The handle increased nearly 3% week-over-week and was the highest among all New York sports betting operators. 

DraftKings generated $144.3 million, second-most in the Empire State for the week ending Feb. 23. A whopping 12.3% hold led to $17.8 million in revenue, a 161% week-over-week increase despite $16 million less wagered. 

Fanatics goes over $30 million

Fanatics Sportsbook finished third in New York with a handle of $36.9 million, up $1 million from the previous week. A 7.6% hold led to $2.8 million in revenue, fourth-most in the Empire State. 

BetMGM’s $28.3 million in wagers just beat out Caesars Sportsbook’s $27-`million handle, but an 11% hold gave BetMGM $3.1 million in revenue, the third-highest for the week. 

BetRivers finished sixth with a weekly handle of $8.7 million. ESPN BET's handle decreased slightly week-over-week to $8.6 million, but a 9.8% hold turned an $841,000 profit, nearly $80,000 more than the previous week.   

Bally Bet and Resorts World Bet both saw week-over-week handle and revenue increases.
