What will the weekend bring to the Super Bowl LIX spread?
After what transpired on Friday, who knows? For a brief time, ESPN BET and theScore Bet moved their line from Kansas City -1 to a pick’em, with the Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs both at -110 on the moneyline.

It’s the first time since the Big Game spread was released after the NFC and AFC Championships that the Chiefs weren’t the Super Bowl odds favorite.
They had briefly gotten to -2.5 at ESPN BET earlier in the week before Eagles money started pouring into most sportsbooks. The line was at -1.5 for much of the last two weeks and returned to -1 by Friday afternoon.
ESPN BET reported that 56.1% of the bets and 55.2% of the handle is backing Philadelphia.
As of Friday afternoon, DraftKings was still offering Chiefs -1.5 number with 55% of the spread bets on the favorite. However, the handle was split down the middle.
DraftKings had the Eagles moneyline of +100 getting 54% of the money and 55% of the wagers. ESPN BET reported that 53.4% of the tickets and 59.4% of the outright winner money were on the NFC representative.
BetMGM said that 60% of the bets and handle are on the Eagles ML, but the Chiefs (-1.5) are getting 52% of the spread tickets.
“Saquon (Barkley) and (Travis) Kelce are the worst outcome for touchdown scorers, and we are still rooting for the Eagles and the Under right now,” BetMGM senior trading manager Christian Cipollini said. “Ideally, if the Eagles win we’d like them not to use purple or yellow Gatorade as well.”
Special markets
ESPN BET also released updates on several other markets, including alternative spreads. Eagles +7.5 is getting the most action while Eagles +3.5 has taken the most money. Bettors are also big on Chiefs -2.5 and Eagles -6.5.
The online sportsbook said it has seen a lot of action and money come in on the market for each team to score 1+ touchdowns and 1+ field goals in each half. Failing on a fourth down conversion and length of the longest drive going over 75.5 yards have also been popular wagers.
ESPN BET is offering coin toss odds at even on both sides. The operator said 61% of both the bets and the money have come in on tails.
BetMGM, with odds of -102 on both, reported that 53% of the bets are on heads while 53% of the money is on tails while FanDuel opened up new wagering options surrounding the infamous coin flip.
“This season we introduced Coin Toss SGP allowing customers to parlay the Coin Toss result with hundreds of other markets,” a FanDuel trader said. “In terms of the betting on this market, we have taken nearly 52% of bets on Tails.”
Caesars reported that the coin toss is the No. 1 most-popular unique prop with a successful 2-point conversion coming in second, ahead of overtime, an interception in the end zone, and a passing TD by a non-rostered quarterback.
Saquon’s world
Philadelphia’s star running back is still receiving large interest in various markets. Out of the top 25 Super Bowl player props at ESPN BET, Barkley owns six of them, including rushing for more than 100+ yards and scoring the first touchdown.
He’s also dominating the Super Bowl MVP and touchdown markets at FanDuel.
“Saquon has nearly triple the number of bets to win Super Bowl MVP as the player with the second most bets, Patrick Mahomes. Jalen Carter has the most bets for MVP by any defensive player, and he has the fifth most bets for any player in the market,” a FanDuel trader said. “Fitting that theme, Saquon leads the field in Any Time TD Scorer selections. Predictably, Jalen Hurts is the second most bet player for Any Time TD Scorer, but he does not even have half the bets that Saquon does.”
Other players are also taking significant action.
Eagles tight end Dallas Goedert continues to be a hot pick. FanDuel reported that 97% of the bets and 98% of the handle on his 49.5 receiving yards prop is on the over. Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes to go over 2+ touchdown passes is No. 2 at ESPN BET.
