A new golf league is partnering with a familiar sportsbook.
On Monday, FanDuel was named the official sports betting partner of Tomorrow's Golf League (TGL), an interactive, virtual indoor competition backed by Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy’s venture TMRW Sports.
TGL launches Tuesday night at the SoFi Center in Palm Gardens, Florida.
“As its inaugural season gets underway, we look forward to partnering with TGL to create a robust offering of bet types for fans to wager on throughout the season,” said Karol Corcoran, Senior Vice President and General Manager of FanDuel Sportsbook.
“As an official Sports Betting Partner of TGL in the U.S., we’ll create an engaging experience that brings fans closer to this exciting new golf experience.”
FanDuel integration
Not only will one of the top online sportsbooks across legal U.S. markets offer various betting options for matches, but FanDuel is set to sponsor intermission segments between competition segments and integrate the prime-time broadcast with live odds.
There will also be customized social and digital media integrations between FanDuel and TGL. The partnership also includes future integrations on the golf league’s app.
“FanDuel is one of the most recognizable names in not only sports gambling but in all of sports,” TMRW Sports Chief Revenue Officer Jason Langwell said.
“Adding them to our growing roster of partners underscores our commitment to excellence as we continue to build out our commercial program for TGL presented by SoFi.”
Fresh competition
The TGL features six teams of PGA Tour players competing in various aspects of golf in a technology-filled golf venue and offers a new form of golf betting.
Tuesday’s first match pits the Bay Golf Club squad of Wyndham Clark, Shane Lowry, and Ludvig Aberg against Rickie Fowler, Xander Schauffele, and Matt Fitzpatrick of the New York Golf Club.
Other teams include players Justin Thomas, Xander Schauffle, Collin Morikawa, Keegan Bradley, Matt Fitzpatrick, Lucas Glover, Hideki Matsuyama, Justin Rose, and Max Homa, among others.
