The Toronto Blue Jays have been heating up, with four wins in their last five games, and will look to keep it rolling against the Arizona Diamondbacks.
George Springer has led the charge offensively for the Jays in the first half of July with nine RBI in nine games, and my Blue Jays vs Diamondbacks prediction is eyeing another big offensive outing against Arizona starter Ryne Nelson, who’s struggled for most of the season.

Over 8.5 (-132 at PROLINE+)
My analysis
The Toronto Blue Jays and Arizona Diamondbacks trot into their final series of the first half in good form, with the visitors going 4-1 over their last five games and the hosts collecting eight wins in their last 12 outings. Both clubs have benefited from some hot bats, and I expect that trend to continue in the series opener, which is why I’m taking the Over as my best bet.
The Jays have been pretty dismal at the plate for most of the year, ranking 24th in runs scored and tied for 21st in team batting average (.235). They’ve shown some improvement of late, though, scoring 66 runs in 14 games over the last 15 days — good for eighth in the MLB over that span.
Toronto has tallied at least five runs in four of its last five outings while also cashing the Over in four of those games. The Jays will also like their matchup against Diamondbacks starter Ryne Nelson, who owns a bloated 5.08 ERA and a 1.48 WHIP through 16 appearances.
Meanwhile, Arizona’s offense, led by power hitter Christian Walker, ranks sixth in the majors with 458 runs scored, and leads all clubs over the last 15 days with 82 runs in 14 contests. The Diamondbacks have notched 5+ runs in eight of their last 11 games while the Over is 8-2-1 through that span.

My best bet
George Springer Over 0.5 RBI (+162 at PROLINE+)
Like many of the Blue Jays batters, George Springer has had a rough first half with just 34 RBI and a .221 batting average — by far the lowest mark of his career. The right fielder could be turning things around, though, as he’s already notched nine RBI in July while batting a respectable .278 this month.
Springer has collected at least one hit in 12 of his last 15 games and posted 19 RBI over that span, so I like his chances to lead the Blue Jays offense again tonight.
