The Milwaukee Brewers have won three games in a row and will now look to open their series against the Atlanta Braves with a victory.
The Brewers are fresh off a series in which they scored 34 runs in a sweep of the Cincinnati Reds, so this team is feeling really good about things right now.

Brewers vs Braves betting preview
Starting pitchers
Eric Lauer LHP (2-0, 1.93 ERA): Lauer has been something else over his last two starts, as he racked up 24 strikeouts in 13 innings of one-run ball in games against the Philadelphia Phillies and Chicago Cubs. The lefty has allowed a total of only five earned runs over 23 1-3 innings this season, and he is building on last year’s solid campaign.
Jesse Chavez RHP (0-0, 2.84 ERA): Chavez is going to open this game for the Braves, and the veteran has been good since moving from the Chicago Cubs to Atlanta. After giving up four earned runs over 5 2-3 total innings with the Cubs, the veteran has pitched five scoreless innings for the Braves. It’s likely that Spencer Strider will end up pitching a good amount for Atlanta after Chavez here.

Brewers vs Braves picks and predictions
Our side and total predictions are based upon our analysis of the line and total in this game. Our best bet is our favorite pick across all markets.
Moneyline analysis
The Brewers are one of the hottest teams in baseball right now, as they have won three in a row and 10 of their last 12. Milwaukee now gets to face an Atlanta team that isn’t throwing out one of its better starters, making this a game that the Brewers really should win.
Coming into this game, Milwaukee happens to be third in the league in slugging percentage against right-handed pitching, and the Brewers have scored more runs than any team in baseball against righties. This is an offense that is really clicking right now, as evidenced by the 28 runs the team has scored over the last two games.
Lauer also happens to be pitching absurdly well this season, as the southpaw is coming into this one after punching out 24 batters over his last two starts. Now, the 26-year-old faces a team with the fifth-highest strikeout rate in MLB against lefties.
With that said, Lauer could be in for another start in which his stuff gets him a long way. The Braves should have their chances to win games in this series, but this game represents their worst opportunity, on paper.
Look for Milwaukee to comfortably take this one, and don’t be afraid to sprinkle some money on an alternate run line of Brewers -1.5.
Prediction: Brewers moneyline (+100 at WynnBet)
Over/Under analysis
The Over has hit in five of the last six games that Milwaukee has played, and the Over is also 5-1 in the team’s last six games against teams with losing records. On top of that, the Over is also 11-4 in the last 15 games that the Braves have played against left-handed starters.
Milwaukee is a great bet to score a lot of runs in this game, but Atlanta should be able to get some against Lauer. If the Braves can get two or three against him, this Over is going to easily hit.
This game just has all the makings of a high-scoring affair, with the Braves also having gone Over in four of their last five contests. If you can get the number at 8 instead of 8.5, this is a play you aren’t going to want to pass up.
Prediction: Over 8 (-118 at FanDuel)
Best bet
The Brewers have just been in an absolute groove lately and it’s hard to see them losing to a team like the Braves without somebody like Max Fried or Kyle Wright on the mound. Milwaukee has scored 28 runs over its last two games, and the team has feasted on right-handed pitching all year.
With Christian Yelich looking more like himself recently — the star is 5 for 9 with two doubles, a homer, and four RBIs over the last two games — the Brewers are going to remain dangerous.
It’s also just really hard to overstate how big of an advantage it is to have Lauer going up against an opener and some spotty relievers. These odds almost seem like a mistake, so hop on Milwaukee while you can.
