Starting pitchers
Zach Davies (5-4, 4.31 ERA): Davies has looked shaky in his first season with the Cubs, pitching to a 1.44 WHIP and .247 opponent batting average in 16 starts. He's been extremely inconsistent over his last four outings, getting rocked for eight runs by the woeful Marlins but pitching 18 2-3 innings of shutout ball against the Dodgers, Cardinals, and Padres where he allowed a total of just three hits.
Brandon Woodruff (6-3, 1.89 ERA): Woodruff has been terrific this season, pitching to a 0.76 WHIP with an opponent batting average of .154 across 15 starts. The right-hander is coming off an excellent performance on the road against the Diamondbacks where he allowed three hits and one run in seven innings of work.

Moneyline pick
After last night's victory, the Brewers are on a six-game winning streak and are 22-8 in their last 30 games. The Cubs have lost four in a row and are 4-10 in their previous 14 contests.
The Brewers have launched themselves to the top of the division thanks to a strong rotation featuring Corbin Burnes, Freddy Peralta, and today's starter, Woodruff. But the Brew Crew have also been hitting much better recently, plating 5.2 runs per game with an OPS of .750 in 25 games this month.
On the other hand, the Cubs lineup has gone ice-cold in June, averaging just 3.42 runs per game with an OPS of .629. Davies will toe the rubber for Chicago tonight and he has been extremely inconsistent this season, struggling with his control to the tune of 4.7 walks per nine innings, which is the fourth-worst mark in the majors among all pitchers with at least 60 innings.
Before Davies was traded to the Padres last year, he played the first five years of his career with the Brewers. However, he didn't perform well in Milwaukee, pitching to a 4.65 ERA, 1.34 WHIP, and .269 OBA in 332 innings at American Family Field (formerly Miller Park).
Woodruff has been lights out this season, ranking fourth in the majors among all pitchers with a WAR of 4.0 and the Brewers have lost only once in his last six starts. Take the Brewers on the runline.
PREDICTION: Milwaukee -1.5 (-104)
Over/Under pick
Davies can be wild at times but when he's on he can be very effective. In seven of his last 10 starts, he has allowed one run or fewer. And despite the Cubs bullpen surrendering a whopping 10 runs in the eighth inning last night, they still have one of the best groups of relievers around, leading the majors with an OBA of .191 and ranking second with an ERA of 2.95.
Woodruff has been absolutely fire this season, allowing two runs or fewer in 13 of his last 14 starts, with the lone exception a game against the Rockies at Coors Field. Three of those quality starts came against the Cubs earlier this year and he shut them down in each contest, allowing just six hits and one run through 19 innings.
The Cubs have scored two or fewer runs in 11 of their last 15 games, averaging just 2.4 runs per contest over that span. With such ugly hitting over the last few weeks, it's little surprise that the Cubbies are 6-1-1 to the Under in their last eight games.
With the Under going 48-19-2 in the last 69 meetings between these NL Central foes, expect a lower-scoring game after last night's 18-run eruption.
PREDICTION: Under 7.5 (-115)
