The Philadelphia Phillies hit the road for a three-game set against the Milwaukee Brewers at American Family Field starting on Monday night.

The Phils are coming off a successful homestand in which they swept the Rays then took two of three from the Mets, with J.T. Realmuto playing an instrumental role.

Find out why my Phillies vs. Brewers predictions and MLB picks believe Realmuto will continue to swing a hot stick on Monday, September 16.

My analysis

J.T. Realmuto has been battling injuries for the Philadelphia Phillies this season but has returned to great form recently. He’s brought his average back up to .267 on the season with 12 home runs, 41 RBI, and 45 runs scored in just 88 games.

Realmuto has raised his average up from .246 thanks to a 29-for-89 (.326) stretch dating back to August 8 with a .953 OPS to boot. The catcher has hit five home runs and eight doubles in that span with 19 RBI and 13 runs scored.

In those 25 games, Realmuto has gone Over 1.5 H+R+RBI 18 times. He’s capable of getting multiple hits in a game, as he’s done eight times in that span, and also bats in the late-middle of the order of a deep Phillies lineup.

Aaron Civale poses a tough test on the mound, going 4-2 with a 3.84 ERA in 11 starts since joining the Milwaukee Brewers, but he’s due for some regression with a 4.69 FIP and 4.07 career ERA.

Realmuto has had 2+ H+R+RBI in two straight games and six of his last nine contests. He’s hit that mark in 53% of his games overall this season, which includes when he may not have been 100% due to injury. Take the +100 odds and 50% implied probability tonight in Milwaukee.

Phillies vs Brewers same-game parlay (SGP)

J.T. Realmuto 1+ hits

Phillies moneyline

Under 8

With my best bet not available in an SGP, I'll pivot to a more conservative Leg No. 1. Realmuto has a hit in nearly three-quarters of his games this season and 16 of his last 20 overall. He may not be hitting for much power, but he’s been getting on base.

The Phillies have gotten their groove back over the past few weeks and are now just barely a pick’em against the Brewers. I’ll back them and Ranger Suarez in Milwaukee tonight in what should be a low-scoring game.

Neither bullpen has given up much in September, with the Brewers third in ERA and the Phillies sitting in sixth.
