It's another jam-packed day of MLB betting action with 15 games on the schedule, which means MLB prop bets galore.

Pitching is the baseball prop betting theme of the day. A pitcher’s duel is slated at Camden Yards in Baltimore with the Tampa Bay Rays in town, and we'll see how long can Jack Flaherty keep his scoreless-inning streak alive when the St. Louis Cardinals host the Pittsburgh Pirates.

We break down and pick those games and more with our best free MLB prop bets and predictions for Wednesday, May 19.

Today’s MLB props and picks

Trevor Rogers Over 6.5 strikeouts (-120)

Trevor Rogers has been outstanding so far for the Miami Marlins in his rookie season. The southpaw has pitched to a 1.84 ERA, 1.07 WHIP, and is allowing opponents to hit a paltry .197.

On top of that, Rogers is racking up the strikeouts with great regularity, punching out 11.7 batters per nine innings through his first eight starts this season.

Wednesday, he goes up against a swing-happy Philadelphia Phillies team. The Phillies strike out a ton. Their 10.10 strikeouts per game are the third-most in baseball.

With Rogers recording at least six punchouts in all eight of his starts this season we like the odds on him going above this number today.

Cardinals -0.5 Five-Inning Runline (-135)

St. Louis Cardinals ace Jack Flaherty is in a groove. The right-hander hasn’t allowed more than two earned runs in six of his eight starts this season, but he is feeling it lately. Flaherty hasn’t allowed a run in 16 innings, giving up just eight hits over that stretch.

Wednesday, Flaherty faces the lowly Pittsburgh Pirates. The poor Buccos rank dead last in scoring and home runs, and second-to-last in OPS. It doesn’t help that Flaherty also has a 2.14 ERA and a 0.94 WHIP in 10 career starts against the Pirates.

On the other side, Pittsburgh counters with journeyman starter Trevor Cahill. The right-hander has a 5.97 ERA and a 1.47 WHIP and has to go against a Cards lineup that is really heating up behind Nolan Arenado, who hit his 10th home run with his new team last night. Bet the Cards to have the lead through five innings.

Rays-Orioles Under 4.5 Five-Inning Total (-125)

We should be in for a pitcher’s duel at Oriole Park at Camden Yards when the Baltimore Orioles host the Tampa Bay Rays in an American League East battle. O’s ace John Means gets the ball for Baltimore while the Rays counter with Ryan Yarbrough in a southpaw showdown.

Means has been a bright spot in what otherwise looks like another long season in Baltimore. The lefty has pitched to 1.21 ERA, has a ridiculous 0.71 WHIP, and followed up his no-hitter by shutting out the Mets on six hits over six innings.

Next up on Means’ hit list is the Rays, who don’t hit for a great average, particularly against lefties, and strike out a ton.

On the other side is Yarbrough, who has been used behind an opener much of the time this season, but has allowed one earned run or fewer in four of his past five appearances, pitching to a 1.13 WHP over that stretch.

The lefty also has a 3.03 ERA in his last five appearances against the O’s, who rank 26th in scoring and 25th in OPS this season.
