The final week of the MLB season is finally here, which means we only have a few more days in which to indulge in the full baseball prop betting market.

So let’s make the most of it.

On a light day on the schedule, we highlight the red-hot Juan Soto as he makes a final push for the National League MVP, while the Oakland A's and Seattle Mariners open a pivotal series in the American League Wild Card race.

We break down and pick these games and more with our best free MLB prop bets and predictions for Monday, September 27.

Today’s MLB props and picks

Cal Quantrill Over 4.5 strikeouts (best odds: -120 at BetMGM)

It looks like Cal Quantrill is starting to show his potential after being a first-round pick back in 2016. The right-hander has been straight dealing since the All-Star break, pitching to a 1.76 ERA and limiting opponents to a .200 batting average. He’ll look to stay hot as the soon-to-be Cleveland Guardians host the Kansas City Royals.

While Quantrill hasn’t been racking up the strikeouts like many of the other big starters this season, this number still looks too low. The right-hander has recorded five or more punchouts in nine of his last 11 starts, including sitting down six Royals in his previous outing last Tuesday.

Another thing to like about this bet is Quantrill’s ability to pitch deep into ball games — he's pitched at least six innings 11 of the last 12 times he has taken the ball for Cleveland. Bet on him to go Over this number once again.

Juan Soto Over 1.5 total bases (best odds: -120 at DraftKings)

The final week of the MLB season means we only get a handful of games to enjoy the awesomeness that is Juan Soto. The Washington Nationals’ slugger is quietly moving up the National League MVP odds board and while his red-hot streak has cooled down a little, he could get the ball flying in the thin air at Coors Field when the Nats visit the Colorado Rockies tonight.

Despite going just 1 for 8 in his last three games, Soto is having a September to remember — hitting .439 with a 1.367 OPS, seven dingers, and 21 RBIs this month.

Now, he goes up German Marquez and the Rockies’ ace is in a bit of a slump. The right-hander is pitching to a 7.51 ERA and giving up a .311 batting average to opposing hitters over his last eight starts. With Marquez then having to hand the ball off to one of the big league’s worst bullpens, this is good value to back Soto to get back on track.

Mariners five-inning moneyline (best odds: -105 at DraftKings)

The Seattle Mariners aren’t giving up on their postseason hopes just yet. The M’s have won seven of their last eight ball games to climb within two games of the second American League Wild Card spot.

Now, they begin a pivotal series with the Oakland A's and hand the ball to one of our favorite former KBO stars in Chris Flexen. The right-hander has proven the M’s were right to give him a chance this year and he has really looked impressive over the last two months.

Flexen owns a 3.12 ERA and a 1.22 WHIP over his last 10 starts, with the Mariners going 7-3 over that stretch. His numbers at home have been even better, pitching to a 3.09 ERA and a 1.15 WHIP at T-Mobile Park this season.

The righty is also coming off an impressive start against the A’s his last time out and has allowed just four runs in his last 19 innings of work against Oakland.

The A's counter Flexen with lefty Cole Irvin, who is in a bit of a slump at the moment. Irvin has a 5.77 ERA while allowing opponents to hit a robust .335 over his last eight starts.

With the Mariners hitting a little better during this hot streak, they are a good bet to have the lead through five innings tonight.

  • Juan Soto Over 1.5 total bases (-120 at DraftKings)
