We've got some afternoon baseball on Wednesday's card, which means plenty of opportunity on this 15-game slate to turn a profit.
I break down my favorite MLB picks and moneyline predictions for Wednesday, April 2.

Expert MLB moneyline picks for April 2
Rangers vs Reds: Rangers (+112)
We cashed with the Rangers yesterday as they held the Reds off the scoresheet in a 1-0 victory. Today, we roll with them again as they attack Hunter Greene, who gets the ball for the Reds. Greene scattered three hits across five innings in his first start but still gave up a long ball. A deep and powerful Rangers team should cash in plenty here.
Pirates vs Rays: Pirates (-114)
It's Paul Skenes day. Send tweet.
Royals vs Brewers: Royals (+105)
The Royals were held scoreless on Tuesday, but I still believe they are the better team from top to bottom. They will have Cole Ragans going today vs. Freddy Peralta, and I'll give the edge to the 27-year-old southpaw. Royals earn a split of this mini two-game series.
Angels vs Cardinals: Angels (+141)
The Angels broke out in a big way on Tuesday, plating nine runs in an extra-innings win. Now they go for the sweep and with two pitchers who I see as even, I'll gladly take the underdogs, who are swinging some hot bats.
Twins vs White Sox: Twins (-175)
The Twins bats woke up in a big way on Tuesday, putting up eight runs on 10 hits. They enter Wednesday's game with the pitching advantage as Pablo Lopez faces Sean Burke. I'll take the veteran pitcher here to limit the White Sox bats once again.
Nationals vs Blue Jays: Blue Jays (+101)
The Blue Jays have won three on the trot and they should have no issues extending their streak to four straight.
Cubs vs Athletics: Cubs (+101)
The Cubbies won again on Tuesday, and I believe they can make it three in a row today. For whatever reason, they like hitting at Sutter Health Park, plating 25 runs across the first two games. Jeffrey Springs gets the ball for the A's, and I expect a much rougher outing for him than in his debut.
Guardians vs Padres: Padres (-179)
The Padres are good. The Guardians? Not so much. San Diego is off to its best start in club history at 6-0 and with Dylan Cease on the bump today, they have a great shot at getting to 7-0.
Tigers vs Mariners: Tigers (-124)
It appears the Mariners are starting this season like they did last in the sense that they can't hit worth a lick. The going will only get tougher as they now face Tarik Skubal, who will be looking for a bounce-back outing. I'll take the Tigers as they go for the sweep.
Giants vs Astros: Astros (-154)
I wanted to continue fading the Astros but I simply can't in this spot with Framber Valdez taking the ball against Landen Roupp. Valdez is coming off seven innings of shutout baseball, and he'll need to be great again if the weak-hitting Astros can pull through for us here.
Mets vs Marlins: Mets (-196)
The Mets dropped a very winnable game on Tuesday, 4-2, to these same Marlins, and now send Clay Holmes to the bump as they look to win this three-game series. I'll take the veteran pitcher here with a lineup that's shown some pop behind him.
Red Sox vs Orioles: Orioles (+106)
The Orioles hung eight on the Red Sox on Monday before an off-day Tuesday. With a rested bullpen and an offense sitting among the best in the majors in offensive categories, I'll take them at home to add more early misery to the Red Sox season.
Rockies vs Phillies: Phillies (-321)
I do not recommend laying -321 with any baseball team, but the Rockies have already shown time and time again that they cannot be trusted in any situation. Zack Wheeler dominates and the Phils win this one going away.
Diamondbacks vs Yankees: Yankees (-133)
The Yankees dropped their first game of the season on Tuesday, but a quick turnaround is just what the doctor ordered. Carlos Rodon takes the ball, and he should have no trouble navigating this Diamondbacks lineup.
Braves vs Dodgers: Dodgers (-229)
I don't want to sound dramatic, but the Braves may go 0-162 this year. They are averaging just 1.6 runs per game this year and have a batting average of .144. No bueno. Blake Snell should have no issues mowing down this feeble lineup. Dodgers stay unbeaten.
