The Houston Astros have rolled off nine consecutive wins at Minute Maid Park, and they host the AL West rival Texas Rangers on Friday.
Texas will send lefty Andrew Heaney to the bump against Houston righty Hunter Brown, who's coming off this worst start of the season.
Here are our free Rangers vs. Astros predictions and MLB picks for their series opener on July 12.
Rangers vs Astros prediction
My best bet
Corey Seager Over 1.5 hits + runs + RBI (-125 at bet365)

My analysis
This is a ripe bounce-back spot for Texas Rangers shortstop Corey Seager. He has gone Under 1.5 hits + runs + RBI in consecutive games after hitting the Over in seven straight with eight runs, 11 hits, nine RBI, and a .423/.464/.962 slash line.
Minute Maid Park checks out as a favorable hitting environment, and Seager has consistently teed off on right-handed pitchers during his career. The 30-year-old star sports a career .381 wOBA and 143 wRC+, and Seagar has been an even better this season with respective .383 and 148 marks.
Houston Astros righty Hunter Brown just allowed 12 hits and seven runs in his most recent outing, and while it’s definitely an outlier on his ledger, the 25-year-old righty sports a 4.86 ERA across 248 innings dating back to the beginning of the 2023 campaign.
Seager is also a staple in the two-hole of the Texas lineup, and for what it’s worth, he’s 3-for-8 with a double and two RBI against Brown for his career.
Finally, we’re also landing an advantage with the -125 bet365 odds, with this Seager Over trading at -130 at multiple other shops. The difference in the prices is only a positive expected value of 2%, but an edge is an edge.
Rangers vs Astros same-game parlay (SGP)
The two legs of this same-game parlay aren’t correlated, so we’re landing a beefed-up +250 price. Texas has a team total of 3.5 runs (-115/-115) through bet365, and while I highlighted Brown’s underwhelming surface numbers, his underlying metrics suggest there’s room for improvement.
Brown sports a much tidier 3.45 xERA and 3.66 xFIP this season, and he also allowed a single earned run over 31 innings across his five starts prior to his noted blow up last time out.
