My analysis
Both the Cleveland Guardians and Texas Rangers come into this weekend’s series on a bit of a slide as the hosts are 1-5 in their last six outings while the visitors are 8-17 dating back to July 26. Offensive production has been the main issue for both clubs of late, which is why I’m taking Under 7.5 as tonight’s best bet.
Over the last 30 days, the Guardians and Rangers both rank near the bottom of MLB’s offensive rankings, with Cleveland sitting 23rd in runs scored (102 in 26 GP) and Texas in 25th (97 in 26 GP).
While the Rangers have picked up three wins in their last four games, they’ve averaged just three runs per game over their last six contests, and things won’t get any easier tonight against Guardians starter Tanner Bibee.
The right-hander held the Brewers to just three hits and one earned run over five innings last Saturday and has given up two runs or fewer in five straight starts. Bibee owns a 1.65 ERA through that span.
Bibee’s Guardians aren’t likely to give him much support, though, as they’ve scored more than three runs just once in their last six outings while averaging an abysmal 1.67 runs per game.

Along with taking Under 7.5, I’ll also look for Bibee to hold the Rangers to Under 2.5 earned runs during his outing. While Bibee’s been hard to touch, he’s also not pitched that deep into ballgames, getting through the sixth inning just once in his last starts. That should help keep his numbers down.
In a weak offensive matchup, Marcus Semien stands out as one of the few strong performers. The Rangers second baseman has a team-leading seven hits and 12 total bases over the last week, notching multiple bases in six of his last nine games.
