Saturday was an up-and-down day for Aaron Judge and the New York Yankees, who took the first game of their doubleheader against the Texas Rangers by a score of 8-0 before dropping the second contest 9-4.
Judge followed a similar script as he notched three hits and an RBI in the opener while going 0-for-3 in Saturday’s finale.
He's batting .423 in August and has collected 2+ hits in four of his last eight games, while he’s also recorded at least one knock in 11 of his last 14 outings going back to late July.
While Rangers starter Andrew Heaney has been solid this season, his fastball-heavy repertoire looks like a good matchup for Judge. Heaney is throwing his four-seamer over 52% of the time, while Judge is batting .372 against fastballs this season — by far his highest average against any pitch type.
