MLB Sharp Money and Line Movement Report
By Patrick EversonTampa Bay went up as a -164 favorite late Wednesday night at FanDuel, dipped as low as -154 and peaked at -172, where the moneyline stands at 11:30 a.m. ET. The Rays are taking practically all the tickets and money, at 86 percent and 91 percent, respectively, and they're a popular runline play today, too. The total moved from 9 to 9.5 a couple of times and is now 9 flat (-110), with ticket count dead even and 53 percent of money on the Under.

Starting pitchers
Rich Hill (2-1, 4.26 ERA): Hill has been pretty much unhittable in his last two outings, as he has allowed no earned runs in his last 12 innings of work. The lefty struck out 13 batters over those two games, and he’ll now turn his attention to an Orioles team that is 2-8 in its last 10 games. This is a great opportunity for him to keep it rolling.
Dean Kremer (0-3, 5.81 ERA): Kremer has pitched surprisingly well for the Orioles as of late, as he has given up just six earned runs over his last three starts. The righty isn’t going to strike out a ton of batters or anything — and he’s certainly not likely to dominate any decent lineups. — but he is capable of going out there and making hitters work.

Moneyline pick
It’s really hard to advise going against the Rays right now, especially with the way the Orioles are playing at the moment. Over the last four games, Tampa Bay is averaging 10.3 runs per game, which is just a ridiculous amount of offensive production. One would think the Rays will be able to put a decent number on the board again here. Guys like Randy Arozarena, Austin Meadows and Joey Wendle will be looking forward to this matchup with Kremer, who isn’t anything too special on the mound.
Not only are the Rays hot offensively, but they also have Hill starting in this game. Hill has battled injuries throughout the course of his career, but he has generally been extremely effective on the bump. That is no different at the moment, as Hill is on an absolute tear coming into this one. The Orioles have done a nice job against lefties this season, but it’s hard to envision them doing too much against the 41-year-old veteran.
PREDICTION: Rays ML -164
Over/Under pick
While the Rays should be able to score a decent amount of runs in this game, the Orioles likely won’t be able to get to Hill. When the lefty is rolling, he can really frustrate opponents, despite not having many pitches in his arsenal. He mostly throws a fastball (which isn’t that fast) and a breaking ball, but he has still given up only two earned runs in his last 21.2 innings of work. All in all, it seems like this one is destined to end up going Under.
PREDICTION: Under 9.0 (-114)
