The Brooklyn Nets have won 10 of their last 13 games and now host a Philadelphia 76ers team that has lost three of its last four. The Nets are going to be shorthanded in this game because of COVID-19, but they’ll still have to feel pretty good about their chances of coming away with a win here.
Will Brooklyn stay hot with a home win over Philadelphia? Our NBA picks and predictions for Sixers vs. Nets have you covered with the answer to that.

Spread analysis
The Nets and 76ers already played an extremely tight game this season, with Brooklyn edging out Philadelphia by five as a 2.5-point favorite at the Wells Fargo Center on October 22. The Nets did, however, have nearly every one of their rotation pieces in that game, and they had a combined 57 points out of Harden, Aldridge and Harris, who are all out for this one. The Sixers are dealing with some roster uncertainty heading into this game, but they are still the healthier team coming into this game.
Of course, Durant is capable of going out there and winning any game by himself, which he has proven time and time again. However, the Sixers have a few bigger forwards that can body him up and give him trouble, like Matisse Thybulle and Tobias Harris. Meanwhile, if Embiid does end up playing for the Sixers, the big man should really dominate inside in this game. Brooklyn is really thin at the center position and it’s just hard to imagine anybody consistently making plays to keep Embiid from scoring around the basket.
Philadelphia also has Tyrese Maxey and an argument can be made that he’ll be the best guard on the floor with all of these absences. Maxey is relentless at attacking the basket and should also be able to play some good defense on Patty Mills in this one.
Overall, it’s too hard to ask for the Nets to win yet another game given what they’re dealing with in regard to COVID-19.
Prediction: Sixers +1.5 (-110)
Over/Under analysis
Over the last three seasons, the Over is 5-2 when the Sixers are coming off back-to-back games in which the team scored 100 or fewer points. This team has generally been able to correct its scoring woes in the past, and Philadelphia should be able to do that against Brooklyn in this game — especially considering the Nets are going to be throwing lineups together that rarely play with one another.
The Over is also 4-1 in Brooklyn’s games against Atlantic opponents this season, and the team is coming off back-to-back Overs, in general. The Nets and Raptors combined to score 260 points the other night, and there’s no reason this one won’t turn into a high-scoring game either.
Prediction: Over 213.5 (-110)
Best bet
The Nets are just 3-10-1 ATS in home games this season, and they’re also 2-9 ATS when coming off back-to-back Overs this year. Overall, while Brooklyn is winning basketball games, the team isn’t doing so in a convincing fashion. And this is one that very likely could get away from the team completely.
The Nets were able to overcome everything and come away with a victory against the Toronto Raptors last game, but this Sixers team will be eager to get back out there after a loss at home to the Miami Heat. Look for Embiid and Co. to take care of business here.
Pick: Sixers +1.5 (-110)
