The Los Angeles Clippers and Denver Nuggets meet in a crucial Game 5 on Tuesday night, with the series tied 2-2.
Norman Powell has stepped up his play across the last two contests, and I’ll explain in my Clippers vs Nuggets Game 5 predictions why I expect that trend to continue.

Who will win Clippers vs Nuggets Game 5?
We’ve seen it all in this series. Three close games, and one blowout in favor of the Los Angeles Clippers. Game 4 was a thriller, with Aaron Gordon’s dunk at the buzzer giving the Denver Nuggets the victory as they evened up the series heading back home.
All but one matchup has been decided by either two or three points. I expect this one at Ball Arena to be close once again, but I do believe Denver will come out victorious. The Nuggets were 26-15 at home during the regular season and should have momentum after a nailbiter win.
Also, Nikola Jokic just went off for 36 points and 21 rebounds. It’s only a matter of time until the playoff version of Jamal Murray wakes up as well, having scored only 13 points in Game 4.
Given how tight the series has been up to this point, I’d lock in the Nuggets moneyline rather than the spread.
Clippers vs Nuggets prediction
My best bet: Norman Powell Over 17.5 points (-105 at bet365)
Norman Powell has an outstanding regular season for the Clips. He averaged a career-best 21.8 points per game as he stepped into a full-time starter role. While he struggled through Games 1 and 2 with only 25 points combined, the UCLA product has started to find his best form lately.
Powell dropped 20 in the huge Game 3 victory, then also posted 22 in Saturday’s loss, evidently cashing the Over in both games. He wasn’t as consistent towards the end of the season, but Powell is now finding a rhythm in these playoffs.
He averaged 22.6 points per night on the road in 2024-25 and also put up 27.8 ppg per contest in the season against Denver. While I’m not predicting he’ll erupt for 25+, it’s possible. But, with his total at just 17.5, I don’t see any problems with Powell hitting the Over for a third consecutive outing.

By no surprise, Jokic has continued to dominate in the playoffs in every way imaginable. With his total for points sitting at 29.5, I’m going to focus on a bet that offers more value right now — 3-pointers.
The Joker shot 40.7% from downtown during the season, averaging 2.0 makes on 4.7 attempts per game. In this series, he’s continued that brilliance. The Serbian has chased the Over in triples in three straight games, going 3-for-6 in Game 4. He also shoots it even better at home, averaging 2.2 converted treys.
As I mentioned earlier, I do not believe the Nuggets will drop another at home tonight. They’re also a slim underdog on the moneyline, which makes this bet even better.
The spread is only at 1.5, and these two have played some intense basketball so far. Denver grinds out a Game 5 victory and returns to LA with the chance to close things out. Jokic and Murray will ball out.
