After earning a comeback win over the Indiana Pacers last night, the Cleveland Cavaliers have now won four games in a row. On Saturday, they’ll be searching for their fifth straight victory in a meeting with the Philadelphia 76ers. Doc Rivers’ team made headlines by acquiring James Harden earlier in the week, but the superstar won’t be out there in this one.

Will Cleveland steal a win in Philadelphia with Joel Embiid not having his future running mate? Keep reading our Cavaliers vs. 76ers NBA picks and predictions for February 12.

Cavaliers vs 76ers picks and predictions

Our predictions are compiled from the analysis of the spread and total and are indications of where we are leaning for this game.

Spread analysis

It’ll be interesting to see whether or not Garland gives it a go in this one, as he sat out of last night’s win over the Pacers with a back injury. It’s possible that Cleveland was confident it would win that game and chose to have him feeling fresh for this meeting with Philadelphia. If Garland ends up playing in this one, it’s hard to imagine the Cavaliers not finding a way to at least cover here.

With Harden out, the Sixers are going to be missing a lot of offense on the perimeter. Seth Curry, who was traded to Brooklyn as part of the Harden deal, was a huge part of this offense, and it’s just hard to imagine Philadelphia finding its footing with such a gaping hole on the perimeter. Maxey had 24 points in a win over the Oklahoma City Thunder last night and is normally a reliable option out there for Philadelphia. The only issue is that Maxey and Embiid won’t have the same floor spacing without Curry, and Cleveland is very adept defensively. That makes it hard to back the Sixers here.

Embiid will also be in for a tough night against this Cavaliers frontcourt. Jarrett Allen and Evan Mobley are an unbelievable defensive duo, and both of them have great size. It’ll be difficult for Embiid to finish amongst the trees in this one. He’ll likely put up some serious numbers in this game, but it might not be as efficient as usual.

Also, Caris LeVert has been playing really well since getting to Cleveland. He had 22 points and five assists in a win over the Pacers last night, and he looked like he was really comfortable in his new offense. His ability to score gives Cleveland an element it has been missing since Sexton got injured.

Overall, the Cavaliers are just good enough to keep things close against a Sixers team that is shorthanded right now. It actually wouldn’t be all that surprising if Cleveland won this one outright.

Prediction: Cavaliers +4.5 (-110)

Over/Under analysis

The Under has hit in 18 of the 27 games that the Sixers have played at home this season. And while this one has an extremely low total tonight, this looks like yet another game that should go Under the total. Philadelphia is 10th in the league in defensive rating this season, while Cleveland is currently second in the NBA in that statistic. These are two teams that really get after it on the defensive end, and they’re both towards the bottom of the league in pace of play on offense.

The Under is also 7-1 in the last eight road games that Cleveland has played against teams with winning home records this year. It’s also 8-3 in the last 11 games that the Cavaliers have played on the second night of a back-to-back. The Under trends also stand out for the Sixers, as it has hit in nine of the last 12 games in which Philadelphia is coming off of a straight-up win.

Prediction: Under 207.5 (-110)

Best bet

The Sixers are just 15-12 straight-up and 10-17 against the spread when playing at home this season, so their home-court advantage hasn’t been quite as strong as in past years. And while this home crowd should be fired up for a big time Eastern Conference clash, the Cavaliers have been really solid on the road this year. Cleveland is 17-12 straight-up and 16-11-2 against the spread when playing away from home this year. This group is extremely tough physically and mentally, and it’s hard to see these players being intimidated here.

The Cavaliers are also 18-6 against the spread in their last 24 games against teams with winning records, so they’re also plenty comfortable against good competition. At the same time, the Sixers are 3-8-1 against the spread in their last 12 home games against teams with winning road records. That means these teams are opposites in a lot of ways. When you add that to the fact that the Cavaliers have the type of big men to give Embiid trouble, it’s hard to lay off of Cleveland here.

Pick: Cavaliers +4.5 (-110)
