The Phoenix Suns will be looking to win their sixth game in a row when they host a Los Angeles Clippers team they beat in the Western Conference Finals last year. The Suns have also won 16 of their last 17 games, making them the hottest team in basketball right now.

Spread analysis
The Clippers are coming off of one of their best wins of the season, as they earned a 119-104 victory over the Golden State Warriors. Six players scored in double figures for Los Angeles — and two other players had at least eight points — in what was a balanced effort from Ty Lue’s group. This Clippers team might be missing a ton of key pieces, but these guys all play hard every night. With that in mind, it’s hard to see them losing by 14 or more points tonight, even against a team as strong as Phoenix.
The Suns have won five games in a row. And with Phoenix coming off back-to-back dominant victories, look for this one to be a little bit more of a struggle for Monty Williams’ team. Sure, Chris Paul and Devin Booker are unlikely to let this one slip out of the win column, but there’s a large gray area between winning and winning by 14.
The Clippers have Ivica Zubac to battle with Deandre Ayton in the paint, and they also feature a collection of wing players to go toe-to-toe with Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson, and Jae Crowder. In fact, Marcus Morris, Nicolas Batum, and Robert Covington combined to score 36 points in the win over Golden State last night, and Amir Coffey is plenty capable of contributing, too.
Los Angeles remains a Top-10 team in terms of defensive efficiency even without Kawhi Leonard and Paul George on the floor. The Clippers defense ranks higher than either the Orlando Magic or Milwaukee Bucks, the opponents most recently felled by the Suns.
Overall, you should feel free to include the Suns in whatever favorite-heavy parlays you put in tonight, but you’re best off staying away from Phoenix on the spread. These two teams have a history after meeting in the Western Conference Finals last year, and we know the Clippers are capable of playing the Suns close.
Prediction: Clippers +13 (-110)
Over/Under analysis
After earning such a big win over the Warriors last night — and having to go on the road a day later — there could be a drop in defensive intensity from Los Angeles here. The good news for Los Angeles — and Over — bettors is this team is capable of holding its own in high-scoring games. The Over has actually hit in six of the team’s last seven.
The Over is also 6-1 in the Suns' last seven games, and Phoenix has scored at least 127 points in three of its last four. Overall, it’s hard to see the Suns getting involved in a slugfest, as the team is clicking on the offensive end and will look to up the pace a bit against the Clippers.
It’s also worth noting that the Over is 33-16 when Phoenix is coming off back-to-back games against Eastern Conference opponents under Williams.
Prediction: Over 223.5 (-110)
Best bet
In Williams’ career as a head coach, his teams are just 2-15 ATS in home games when coming off a home blowout win by 20 or more points. Meanwhile, Los Angeles doesn’t tend to let its struggles last very long, and the team should be feeling good about playing a solid game after the way it played against Golden State last night.
The Clippers also happen to be 5-2 ATS in their last seven games as road underdogs, and they’re 6-2 ATS in their last eight road games against teams with winning home records.
Pick: Clippers +13 (-110)
