DraftKings NBA Pick6 fantasy basketball lineup for January 24
Ja Morant 23.5 points: MORE
Ja Morant is still finding his footing this season after missing time through injury, but he’s putting up a respectable 21.1 points per contest. While the high-flying guard has only scored more than 23.5 points just once in his last five outings, there’s reason to believe he’ll ball out tonight.
Ja is averaging 26 ppg in two appearances in 2024-25 against the Pelicans, who are by no means elite defensively. Morant thrives versus Southwest Division opponents, posting an average of 26.3 points in seven games.
Desmond Bane 19.5 points: MORE
Desmond Bane is showing out on a nightly basis right now, registering more than 19.5 points in five consecutive contests. He scored 24 on Wednesday and 22 just two nights prior to that.
Although Bane hasn’t played well against the Pelicans this season, with just under 13 ppg in two games, he’s been extremely confident lately, and I do believe that will carry over to this divisional matchup.
Dejounte Murray 7.5 assists: MORE
Dejounte Murray is the Pelicans’ best playmaker, averaging 7.7 assists in 27 games. While Murray has only had more than 7.5 assists in two of his last five, he did collect 11 dimes in his most recent game against the Utah Jazz.
The veteran also tends to facilitate the rock at a high level versus Memphis. In two meetings this season, he’s averaged exactly 7.5 assists.
Zach Edey 6.5 rebounds: LESS
Zach Edey is averaging 9.2 points and 7.2 rebounds per game. However, he hasn’t been standing out with his rebounding lately, which is why I’m eyeing this entry.
The center has grabbed less than 6.5 boards in three of his last five games and has averaged just 5.7 rebounds in January so far. He’s also averaging that same number against Southwest Division teams.
Trey Murphy 3.5 threes: LESS
Trey Murphy is shooting 35.8% from 3-point land, averaging 3.1 makes on 8.7 attempts per game. But he’s drained less than 3.5 triples in three of his last five outings. The Pelicans wing isn’t always consistent with his shot from downtown.
Memphis is Top 5 in 3-point percentage allowed and will keep him at bay from downtown tonight.
CJ McCollum 3.5 rebounds: MORE
It’s not often I’ll pinpoint CJ McCollum’s rebounding, but here we are. The Pelicans guard averages 3.7 boards per night and has grabbed more than 3.5 rebounds in four of his last five contests, bringing down eight the other night against the Jazz.
CJ is averaging 3.5 rebounds in January and has been really making his presence felt on the boards lately.
