The NBA carries on Sunday after a wild blockbuster trade on Saturday evening between the Los Angeles Lakers and Dallas Mavericks, with Luka Doncic and Anthony Davis swapping teams.
We have only five games on the slate today, and I’ll focus on Cleveland Cavaliers duo Darius Garland and Donovan Mitchell as their squad faces the Mavs.
Elsewhere, I’ll include the likes of Giannis Antetokounmpo and Tyrese Maxey in my best NBA picks for DraftKings’ Pick6.

Tyrese Maxey 30.5 Points: MORE
I was very wrong two nights ago when I believed Tyrese Maxey’s total was too high against the Nuggets. Instead, he erupted for 42 in a nail-biter loss.
Well, I’m not making that mistake again. The guard is balling out at the moment, scoring more than 30.5 points in three of his last five. Maxey also finished with 29 and 30 points in those two other games.
Yes, Philly is facing the Celtics tonight, which is almost certainly going to be a defeat. And while they’re solid defensively, Maxey dropped 33 on Boston in one meeting earlier this season.
Donovan Mitchell 24.5 Points: MORE
Donovan Mitchell is leading the way for the first-place Cavs and continues to show why he’s one of the best players in the league. He’s averaging 23.9 ppg in 2024-25 and has registered more than 24.5 points in three of his last five outings. "Spida" scored 30+ in all of those appearances as well.
The Dallas Mavericks will be Cleveland’s opponent today, and they just shockingly traded Luka Doncic to the Lakers for Anthony Davis. I think the team in itself is probably still in disbelief after the blockbuster deal, and the Cavs will dominate them here.
Mitchell will play a huge part. He averaged 24.6 ppg in January as well.
Giannis Antetokounmpo 5.5 Assists: LESS
Giannis Antetokounmpo does a little bit of everything for the Bucks and he’s really developed into a solid playmaker over the years. The Greek Freak is averaging six assists per game. But, he’s only dished out more than 5.5 dimes twice in his last five contests and Milwaukee faces the Memphis Grizzlies today, who are 11th in the league in fewest opponent assists allowed.
Antetokounmpo only had four dimes against them in one meeting this season and averages 5.2 assists against Western Conference teams compared to 6.1 versus the Eastern Conference. I don’t think it’ll be a massive day for Giannis as a facilitator.
Derrick White 2.5 Made 3-Pointers: MORE
Derrick White has started 46 games for the C’s this season, averaging 16.1 points on 37.3% shooting from 3-point land. He’s converting 3.3 makes on 8.8 attempts per night. White averaged 2.8 makes in January and has been shooting the lights out of the gym lately.
He’s drained more than 2.5 treys in four of the last five games, sinking 4+ in three of them. The 76ers are 22nd in the league in 3-point percentage allowed and White was 5-for-10 against them earlier this season.
Darius Garland 29.5 Points + Assists: MORE
Darius Garland is having a breakout season for Cleveland and he is best known for his ability to score the rock and facilitate it. That’s why we’re eyeing this entry. The guard is averaging 21.8 points and 6.8 assists and has put up more than 29.5 points + assists in four of the last five.
Even in the one game during this span where he had less than tonight’s total, Garland still had 29 points + assists combined. While he only has 25 points + assists combined against Dallas this season in one matchup, he’s too hot right now to overlook this one.
Nikola Vucevic 10.5 Rebounds: MORE
Nikola Vucevic is having his best season as a Chicago Bull and could be traded this week as a result. Aside from his 19 ppg, Vooch is also averaging 10.4 rebounds per night and averaged 11.1 boards in January — his best month of the season.
The big man has grabbed more than 10.5 rebounds in three of the last five, registering 12, 11, and 12 boards. He’s averaging 12 rebounds versus today’s opponent, the Detroit Pistons. Vooch will put in work on the glass.
