Despite a rocky start to the 2024-25 campaign, the Utah Jazz have seen a glimmer of hope with two wins in their last four outings. They’ll face a tough challenge as they head to Intuit Dome to face the Los Angeles Clippers, losers of three straight.

The Clippers will be desperate for a win at home, but Utah is playing competent ball and should be confident for this Western Conference showdown.

My Jazz vs. Clippers predictions expect the visiting team to cover a wildly-large spread. Read my NBA picks to see why you should take Utah and the points

Jazz vs Clippers prediction

My best bet
Jazz +10 (-110 at bet365)

My analysis

The Los Angeles Clippers may have a better straight-up record than the Utah Jazz this season, but both teams have covered six games. The Jazz are 2-2 straight up across their last four, have covered in two straight, and Utah is 3-1 ATS across their last four outings. After peeling off four straight victories, the Clippers are on a three-game losing streak with an 0-3-1 ATS record across their last four.

The Jazz are just 1-2 ATS as double-digit dogs this season, but the Clippers are 1-2-1 when favored by six points or more. Utah has kept each of its last six games within nine points, and it’s hard to envision the team failing to cover against a Clippers team that has struggled mightily across its last three.

The Jazz defense has been porous this season, but the Clippers’ offense hasn’t been too impressive. With Paul George now in Philly and Kawhi Leonard on the sideline, Los Angeles has leaned heavily on Ivica Zubac and Norman Powell as go-to options on offense alongside James Harden

Powell may find his rhythm tonight, but Zubac could struggle against a Jazz defense that has been strong underneath, allowing the eighth-fewest points in the paint this season and limiting opponents to the 11th-fewest rebounds.

Los Angeles may emerge victorious in the return home, but I’ll take Utah to keep it within striking distance and cover this spread.

Jazz vs Clippers same-game parlay

Jazz +10

Norman Powell Over 2.5 threes

James Harden Over 2.5 threes

Utah has allowed the fifth-most points per game this season, the fifth-highest three-point percentage, and the fourth-most made triples. This sets up Powell and Harden nicely to cash their respective three-point props tonight. Utah has allowed 14.9 three-pointers per game on the season but 16.3 over the last three. The Jazz surrendered 19 three-pointers to Sacramento on Saturday, and Los Angeles should get quality production from its pair of three-point snipers.

Powell is averaging a career-best 3.8 triples per game to start the season. He kicked off the campaign with 17 points in the opener followed by 10 straight games with 20 or more points. He’s averaged just 10.5 points on sub-30% shooting across his last two, and he’s in a great spot to bounce back against Utah’s generous perimeter defense. “Stormin’ Norman” has knocked down at least three triples in nine of 13 outings this season

The prop I’m most excited about tonight is Harden’s. I’m taking the same made three-pointers line as Powell’s, but Harden’s three-point shooting carries a bit more gravity. The Beard is tied with Ray Allen at 2,973 for most made three-pointers in NBA history. He only needs one more to break that tie, and I’m sure he’ll get it tonight. I expect him to bury at least two more three-pointers, which is something he’s done in seven of 13 games this season. That includes three in a row and four of five. I’m excited to watch history made and Harden to cash this prop for our three-leg parlay.
