After an impressive win over the Los Angeles Lakers on Christmas Day, the Brooklyn Nets look to double up at Cypto.com Arena by beating the Los Angeles Clippers tonight.

The Clippers are fresh off a tough loss to the Denver Nuggets yesterday, so they’ll be eager to get back in the win column. They are, however, set to be without Paul George for the next couple of weeks and are NBA betting home underdogs for this game.

Will Brooklyn leave Los Angeles with wins over both L.A. teams? Keep reading our Nets vs. Clippers NBA picks and predictions, for Monday, December 27, to find out.

Nets vs Clippers picks and predictions

Our predictions are compiled from the analysis of the spread and total and are indications of where we are leaning for this game.
Our best bet is the play that we like the most for this game, which we would actually put some of our bankroll behind.

On Christmas Day, the Nets needed the Houston Rockets version of James Harden in order to beat the Lakers — and that’s exactly what they got. The former MVP had 36 points, 10 rebounds, 10 assists, three blocks, and a steal, plus he also went to the free-throw line 17 times.

It was a complete throwback performance, with Harden having his fingerprint all over the victory. With Kevin Durant once again out for Brooklyn, look for Harden to do more of the same against the Clippers.

With George out for Los Angeles, Harden will be by far the best player on the court in this game. And while the Clippers might try to throw Eric Bledsoe on him, it’s hard to envision anybody on Los Angeles finding a way to actually stop The Beard from getting to the rim or getting off his step-back jumper.

Meanwhile, Patty Mills had 34 points on 8-of-13 shooting from deep against the Lakers, and he’ll once again feast on the looks that Harden provides him in this one. Overall, Brooklyn should be just fine offensively, even without some key players in the rotation.

Defensively, the Nets won’t be quite as good as usual, but Nic Claxton could be an X-factor here. His rim protection was superb against the Lakers last game and Brooklyn will be counting on him to hold his own against Ivica Zubac tonight.

Prediction: Nets -3.5 (-110)

In our Nuggets-Clippers preview yesterday, we noted that the best way for the Clippers to win going forward is by slowing the pace down and focusing on defense. Those teams then combined to score only 203 points in a game with a total of 211.5.

Los Angeles has now gone Under the total in four straight games and six of its last seven. And despite the fact the Clippers are facing a very potent Nets offense, this should be yet another low-scoring affair.

For what it’s worth, the Under is also 7-0 when Los Angeles has played at home against teams that shoot at least 46.0 percent from the floor this year. The Clippers step it up when facing solid shooting teams, as the average number of points scored in those games was just 195.9 points per game, so it really wouldn’t be surprising if this was another drag of a contest.

Prediction: Under 216.5 (-110)

The Clippers were competitive in a loss to the Nuggets yesterday, but this team will run out of steam at some point in the near future. Los Angeles will ultimately regain its composure when it gets some players back in the lineup, but it’s just unfair to ask this team to compete as is.

The Clippers are missing too much talent, on both ends of the floor, and it’s going to be hard for them to consistently play good basketball — especially against great teams.

The Nets also love traveling West, as under head coach Steve Nash they are 15-5 ATS in road games against non-conference opponents. The Nets are also 16-5 ATS against the Pacific division over the last three seasons.

Pick: Nets -3.5 (-110)
