Today’s NBA Player Prop Picks: Spurs' Murray Goes Into Overdrive

Dejounte Murray has been the primary reason why the Spurs haven't turned off the lights on the 2021-22 season. Tonight, he gets a cake defensive matchup against the Rockets and is available at plus money to record a triple-double in our player prop picks.

Today’s best NBA player props

High-flying Huerter

Barring a complete collapse, it appears the Atlanta Hawks will hold on to the final play-in spot in the Eastern Conference, which may set up an insane matchup against Kevin Durant and the Brooklyn Nets. Before then, the Hawks will look to perfect their shooting form when they visit the Indiana Pacers tonight.

Trae Young has been letting it fly from 3-point range lately, but he’s not the only one in Atlanta with a feel for the 3-ball, as Kevin Huerter is also jacking up his fair share from deep. Huerter, who is a 37.3% 3-point shooter for the season, is attempting 7.4 threes per game over the last 10 games, hitting three or more five times over that stretch. That includes going 4-for-9 from deep against this same Pacers team back on March 13.

And that has been a familiar trend for the Pacers. Indiana now ranks 28th in the NBA in opponent 3-point shooting percentage and is 18th in opponent 3-point attempts per game since the All-Star break.

Huerter is also coming off a performance against the Golden State Warriors where he went 5-for-12 from beyond the arc, so he’s found his rhythm again. That means we’re really liking the Over on his made threes prop when we’re getting a price of +140.

Pick: Kevin Huerter Over 2.5 made threes (+140)

Noble Barnes on the Boards

The Boston Celtics have been the best team in basketball over the last two months, but they could be at a big disadvantage on the boards when they visit the Toronto Raptors tonight.

That’s because the Celtics could be down their Top 3 rebounders for this Atlantic Division matchup. Boston announced this morning that the Time Lord, Robert Williams (9.6 rebounds per game) will miss at least the next few weeks with a knee injury.

On top of that, Al Horford (7.5 rebs/game) is listed as doubtful, and Jayson Tatum (8.1 rebs/game) is currently questionable with a knee injury of his own. That presents an opportunity for the Raptors’ rookie phenom Scottie Barnes.

While Barnes has recorded just six rebounds in each of his last four games, he is averaging 8.8 rebounds in 13 contests since coming out of the All-Star break and has hauled down eight or more boards eight times over those 13 games.

Barnes is also averaging 9.0 rebounds in three games against the Celtics this season and should have a big night on the boards against a depleted Boston team.

Pick: Scottie Barnes Over 7.5 rebounds (-106)

Murray, present

Suddenly, seemingly out of nowhere, the San Antonio Spurs are now just a game out of the final play-in game in the Western Conference. A big part of that has been because of the play of Dejounte Murray and he’ll look to stay hot when the Spurs visit the Houston Rockets.

The All-Star guard is averaging 20.8, 9.3 assists, and 8.3 rebounds this season and has helped the Spurs win four of their last five games. The most recent of which saw Murray record a triple-double, putting up 15 points, 13 assists, and 11 rebounds in a win over the New Orleans Pelicans.

It was Murray’s 13th triple-double of the season and if there is a time to bet him to get another one, it’s in this matchup against the Rockets.

The Rockets have a problem on defense. They rank dead last in the NBA in defensive rating, next-to-last in rebounding percentage, 21st in opponent rebounds per game, and 25th in opponent assists per game.

And Murray has already had his way with the Rockets this season. In three games against them, Murray is averaging 23.3, 10.7 assists, 9.0 rebounds, recording one triple-double against them back on Jan. 12. This is a bit of a longshot, but it’s certainly live.

Pick: Dejounte Murray triple-double - Yes (+450)

It’s not an interesting story. Seriously.
