Today’s NBA Player Prop Picks: Giannis Continues Dominance on the Boards

The NBA features a five-game slate tonight, and two of our three favorite props on the menu include great rebounding opportunities for two stars. We are also riding Luka Doncic who has been hot from beyond the arc lately.

It’s a bit of a lighter night in the NBA with just five games on the schedule, but the night isn’t short on star power with great player prop betting value.

Today, we look at a prop for one of the frontrunners to win MVP when Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Bucks visit Joel Embiid and the 76ers.

And you can expect another big game from Luka Doncic when he faces the spiraling Lakers.

Check out our NBA player prop picks for Tuesday, March 29, as we bank on some of the NBA's best to do their thing.

Today’s best NBA player props

Greek glass cleaner

The race for first place in the Eastern Conference is about as exciting as it gets. Heading into Tuesday night’s action, four teams are within one game of the top spot, and two of those teams will face off when the Milwaukee Bucks visit the Philadelphia 76ers.

This isn’t just a matchup of two of the East’s best teams, but two of the league’s frontrunners to win MVP in Giannis Antetokounmpo and Joel Embiid. While Embiid and Nikola Jokic have been getting most of the press when it comes to winning MVP, Giannis somewhat quietly has gone on an impressive tear.

Despite coming off an ugly loss to the Memphis Grizzlies, Antetokounmpo and the Bucks may be peaking at the right time going 10-4 since the All-Star break, fueled in large part by the play of Giannis.

The Greek Freak is averaging 30.8 points on 55.9 % shooting while grabbing 13 rebounds, 4.8 assists, and 1.6 blocks in 12 games played since coming out of the break.

But today we are focusing on Antetokounmpo’s work on the boards. He has pulled down 13 or more rebounds seven times over his 12 games, which includes big games on the boards against good rebounding teams like Miami, Phoenix, and Utah.

It also may surprise you that despite having a presence on the inside like Embiid, the Sixers are a below-average rebounding team. Philly ranks 23rd in rebounding percentage and 19th in opponent rebounds per game.

Antetokounmpo has also done well to clean up the glass against the Sixers this season, grabbing 16 and 11 rebounds in two appearances against them this season. We’re betting on another big on the boards for Giannis tonight.

Pick: Giannis Antetokounmpo Over 12.5 rebounds (+106)

Doncic has found shooting touch

Speaking of MVPs, I still think Luka Doncic isn’t getting enough credit for the second half he's having for the Dallas Mavericks. Doncic will look to have another big night when he and the Mavs host the self-imploding Los Angeles Lakers.

Doncic has been on fire since basically the end of January, averaging 31 points, 9.6 rebounds, and 8.4 assists over a 25-game span, leading the Mavs to a 17-8 record, helping them climb to fourth place in the Western Conference standings.

A big part of that turnaround has been because Doncic has found his rhythm from beyond the arc. Doncic started the season in an absolutely dreadful shooting slump but he's since turned it around. Over this 25-game span, Doncic is shooting 40.5 % from deep on nearly 10 attempts per game.

And he’s been even better recently. In his last 11 games, Doncic has upped that shooting percentage to 41.4, draining four or more threes eight times over that span.

Now, he’ll face a Lakers team that will most likely be without LeBron James. On top of that, the Lakers rank 24th in opponent 3-point shooting percentage since the All-Star break, allowing them to hit 38% of their attempts from deep.

While Doncic had a rough outing against the Lakers back on March 1, which included him going 0-5 from three, we can give him a break since the Mavs were coming off an off night in L.A. (which also happened to be his birthday). Getting plus-money on this prop is too much to pass up.

Pick: Luka Doncic Over 3.5 made threes (+120)

Rare opportunity knocking for Spida

We’ve only got a few more games to pick on the Los Angeles Clippers when it comes to opposing player rebounding props, so why stop now when they host the Utah Jazz tonight.

Normally this would be a Rudy Gobert sweet spot, but the Jazz big man is questionable for this one with a leg injury. With Hassan Whiteside also out, that should create an opportunity for some added rebounds for guard Donovan Mitchell.

Mitchell averages 4.2 rebounds for the season, but over the last nine games that number has bumped up to 5.1 over his last nine games and he's grabbed five or more rebounds six times over that span.

And of course, it’s the matchup with the Clippers that we love here. For those just joining the column, the Clippers are one of the worst rebounding teams in the NBA, ranking 27th in rebounding percentage. But it’s not just big men who dominate the Clippers, as they also give up the third-most rebounds per game to opposing guards.

Bet on Mitchell to have an impact on the boards in this one and grab the Over on his rebounding total.

Pick: Donovan Mitchell Over 4.5 rebounds (-130)
