Clarkson's found a home
The Utah Jazz were expected to be the worst team in the league but are somehow on top of the Western Conference with a 10-3 record.
They are second in the league in offensive rating, with Lauri Markannen and Jordan Clarkson leading the way. Clarkson has been one of the league's best sixth men over the last few seasons, and he's now thriving in a starting role.
The guard has hit the 20-point plateau in five straight games, averaging 22 points per game over that span. He's also taking an average of 16.8 field goal attempts per game over that five-game stretch, so you know the volume will be there on a Jazz team that doesn't have many shot-creators.
With Clarkson and the Jazz taking on a Wizards squad that ranks 20th in the league in defensive rating, take the Over 18.5 on his points total.
Jordan Clarkson Prop: Over 18.5 pts (-106)
Grant can do it all
The Blazers look to continue their strong start as they head to the Lone Star state to take on the Dallas Mavericks.
Portland might be without center Jusuf Nurkic for the third game in a row, with the center nursing a hip injury. That should mean more rebounding opportunities for other Blazers players, including forward Jerami Grant.
Grant is coming off a terrific performance against the Pelicans on Thursday, when he scored 27 points and grabbed eight boards. He'll look to attack the glass again tonight against a Mavs team that ranks just 25th in the NBA in rebounding rate.
With the O/U on Grant's rebounds set at 4.5 — a number he has eclipsed in five of his last six games — I'm hammering the Over.
Jerami Grant Prop: Over 4.5 rebounds (-112)
Turkish delight
The Rockets take their 2-10 record on the road as they head to the Big Easy to face the New Orleans Pelicans. Despite an ugly start to their season, the Rockets have plenty of promising young players, including Alperen Sengun.
The center is coming off a game where he scored 17 points on just eight field goal attempts versus the Raptors. He has now dropped at least 17 points in four-straight games, averaging 20 ppg on 61.4% shooting over that span.
The Pels are 23rd in the league in points per game allowed in the paint (51.3), which is good news for Sengun, who gets most of his buckets close to the basket. Bet the Over 15.5 on his points total.
Alperen Sengun Prop: Over 15.5 points (+100)
