It’s trade deadline day in the NBA which means there are a lot of moving pieces on the odds board but it also creates interesting betting opportunities.

Today I bring you my three favorite NBA player props, including one for Anthony Davis who could make his Dallas Mavericks debut, and another that takes advantage of the new-look Sacramento Kings.

Here are my NBA picks for Thursday, Feb. 6.

NBA player props for February 6

Anthony Davis Under 24.5 Points (-115 at bet365)

There’s a chance Anthony Davis makes his debut for the Dallas Mavericks tonight against the Boston Celtics. And if AD is a go, I want to be ready...with a bet on the Under for his 24.5 points.

Davis has missed the last four games with an abdominal muscle strain he suffered while still a member of the Los Angeles Lakers before being part of the blockbuster deal for Luka Doncic.

If he gets on the court tonight, the Mavs get a guy who is averaging 25.7 points per game this season, and who was cooking prior to the trade, going for 36 and 42 points in his final full two games as a member of the Lakers.

But the Celtics pose a different challenge. Boston ranks fifth in the NBA when it comes to defense rating and is probably even better than that. The C’s also rank second in opponent effective field goal percentage and 11th in opponent points in the paint allowed per game.

The Celtics also just saw Davis as a member of the Lakers, keeping him to 24 points on 9-of-18 shooting.

Given the fact that Davis is likely still not 100 percent and is still getting accustomed to his new team, if he does take the court tonight, Under 24.5 points looks like a really solid play. And it looks even better when you see our Covers Prop Projections have AD at 22.7 points.

Jerami Grant Over 14.5 Points (-115 at bet365)

To say the Sacramento Kings made some interesting moves ahead of Tuesday’s trade deadline would be a bit of an undersell. Reuniting Zach LaVine with DeMar DeRozan is certainly a choice for a team that already struggles on the defensive end of the floor.

Well, as bettors we won’t complain about a situation that we can take advantage of when the Kings visit the Portland Trail Blazers on Thursday night.

If the Kings want to hold on to their play-in spot this season they’ll have to do it by outscoring opponents. Sacramento already enters this Western Conference showdown ranked 23rd in both defense rating and opponent effective field goal percentage.

While the Trail Blazers aren’t exactly known for lighting up the scoreboard, they still have a few guys who can reliably get buckets and the player I’m looking at in particular for this matchup is Jerami Grant.

Grant enters this game averaging 14.8 points per game while shooting a solid 38.2% from 3-point range and the Blazers wing has picked up his game even more since returning from a facial injury that cost him nine games at the end of December and early January.

Grant has topped 18 or more points five times in the last nine games, shooting 40% from the floor and 38.8% from beyond the arc.

His points scored prop is sitting at 14.5 for this matchup, so I like Over and with our Covers Prop Projections setting Grant at 16.4 points I might sprinkle a little on his alt point total of 20+ at +310, something he has done in two of his last three games and three of his last six.

Kawhi Leonard Over 5.5 Rebounds (-110 at bet365)

Kawhi Leonard is starting to get more of a run for the Los Angeles Clippers and I think now is the time to jump on his player props, starting with tonight’s matchup with the Indiana Pacers.

Hold your breath Clippers fans, Leonard has now played seven consecutive games on the team’s schedule and has increased his playing time to approximately 27 minutes per game over the last five.

While Leonard has still been trying to find his shooting rhythm, he still contributes all over the court, averaging 6.0 rebounds and 3.0 assists over this seven-game stretch and I’m betting he keeps cleaning the glass tonight against the Pacers.

Indiana has struggled on the boards all season long, entering this game with the fourth-worst rebounding rate in the NBA while ranking 19th in opponent rebounds per game.

Oddsmakers are still giving us a nice number for Leonard’s rebounding prop, setting it at 5.5. The Claw has grabbed enough boards to go Over this number five times in this seven-game period. It doesn’t hurt that our Covers Prop Projections have Leonard at 6.0 rebounds for this matchup. Give me the Over.

It’s not an interesting story. Seriously.
