After earning a road victory over the Chicago Bulls, the Phoenix Suns search for their third win in a row when they face the Philadelphia 76ers at the Wells Fargo Center on Tuesday. With the way Joel Embiid is playing right now, this should be an extremely fun game to watch.

Suns vs 76ers picks and predictions

Our predictions are compiled from the analysis of the spread and total and are indications of where we are leaning for this game.
Our best bet is the play that we like the most for this game, which we would actually put some of our bankroll behind.

Spread analysis

The Suns are coming off a dominant performance over the Chicago Bulls, but the team was unable to get the cover in the end. Phoenix had a 17-point lead with just about three minutes to go, but the team will still be happy to have earned a win over the top team in the Eastern Conference. Now, the Suns set their sights on a Sixers team that is also coming off a big road win over the Bulls.

The matchup to pay attention to in this one is Deandre Ayton versus Embiid. There might not be a player in the league that has been as dominant as Embiid lately, but Ayton has the tools to make him a little uncomfortable in this one.

Ayton has a big body, great speed for a center, and a good sense of where to be on the defensive end. Embiid might still put up absurd numbers here, but Ayton will make him work for it. And the Suns have the type of elite defense to limit the guys around him.

Offensively, there’s a good chance that this ends up being another big night for Devin Booker, who had 38 points against the Bulls last night.

Also, it wouldn’t be surprising if Chris Paul teaches Tyrese Maxey a lesson or two. Maxey is a great young guard in this league, but Paul routinely has big nights in matchups like these.

Even on the road against a tough opponent, the Suns will once again prove why they have the NBA's best record and gut out another victory.

Prediction: Suns +1.5 (-110)

Over/Under analysis

The Over is 6-0 in Phoenix’s last six games against teams with winning records, and it’s also 16-5 in the last 21 games in which the Suns are coming off a performance where they scored at least 125 points. Phoenix’s offense is just operating at an extremely high level at the moment, which is backed up by the fact that they have an offensive rating of 117.5 over the last 15 games. That’s the third-best mark in the league in that span, and it’s quite a bit higher than their regular-season offensive rating of 113.1.

The Sixers, meanwhile, are also a good offensive team this year, with Philadelphia being 11th in the league in offensive rating. The Sixers are coming off a 119-point performance against the Bulls and will now look to try to keep up with a Suns team that could look to pick up the pace here.

Prediction: Over 217.5 (-110)

Best bet

The Suns are 18-7 ATS when playing on the road against teams with winning percentages between 60.0% and 70.0% under Williams. That record would be even better if not for Malcolm Hill scoring a meaningless eight points in 46.4 seconds to help the Bulls get the backdoor cover last night. Phoenix is also 29-13 ATS in games with lines of +3 to -3 since the start of last year, and the Suns have won those games by an average of 4.8 points per game.

This Phoenix team isn’t going to roll over and let one slip away and has the ability to flip the switch in big games like this. On top of that, Phoenix needs to continue tallying wins with Golden State only 2.5 games back of the Western Conference's top seed.

Look for the Suns to be completely locked in and don’t be surprised if Ayton’s play in his matchup with Embiid is a big reason that Phoenix emerges here.

Pick: Suns +1.5 (-110)
