The Ohio State Buckeyes and the Texas Longhorns are set to meet in the Cotton Bowl, with a spot in the National Championship on the line.
It's a matchup of arguably the best two teams in the country. With a total of 53, offensive fireworks are expected in this epic matchup, so let's dive into my favorite Ohio State vs. Texas anytime touchdown picks for Friday, January 10.
Texas anytime touchdown pick
Gunnar Helm anytime touchdown
+220 at BetMGM
When Quinn Ewers is healthy and this Texas Longhorns offense is clicking, the quarterback is constantly targeting Gunnar Helm.
Helm broke out in Texas’ Week 2 win against Michigan, hauling in seven receptions for 98 yards and a touchdown. However, when Ewers got banged up, the tight end's production severely dipped over the next six games, catching just 22 passes for 279 yards and one score. Funny how that happens when your starting quarterback gets injured.
Ewers returned for the Florida game, and Helm quickly got back on track, racking up 325 yards and five TDs over his final seven games. It's clear he's a key part of the Longhorns' game plan heading into the playoffs, as Helm has racked up nine receptions for 148 yards and two scores in the wins over Clemson and Arizona State.
Like Texas, the Ohio State Buckeyes have a strong pass defense, but Helm may not be looked at as one of the Longhorns’ top targets. Underestimate him at your own risk, as Helm looks like one of the best values on the board to score in the Cotton Bowl.

Ohio State anytime touchdown pick
Jeremiah Smith 2+ anytime touchdowns
+300 at BetMGM
I’m tailing my College Football 134 co-host on this one, as Jeremiah Smith is an absolute monster.
At just 19 years old, Smith measures in at 6-foot-3 and 215 pounds and remains one of the fastest players on any football field. He is a nuanced route runner with great hands to boot, making him the kind of wide receiver you'd build in a lab.
Smith totaled 1,224 yards on 70 receptions with 14 touchdowns over 14 games for the Buckeyes this season, and he’s taken it to a whole other level in the playoffs. In dominant wins over both Tennessee and Oregon, the freshman boasts 13 catches for 290 yards and four scores.
The future NFL star looks unstoppable at this point. He’s scored multiple touchdowns in each of his first two playoff games, and I'm backing him to make it a perfect three-for-three.
