We have an ACC matchup for Saturday that could get interesting when the No. 3-ranked Florida State Seminoles travel to Chestnut Hill for a matchup with the Boston College Eagles.
Hurricane Lee is rearing its ugly head towards the East Coast, and this contest could feature winds exceeding 30 mph. Caesars Sportsbook has Florida State on the board as a 26-point favorite with a 48-point total when the two ACC rivals meet at noon ET.

Florida State vs Boston College best odds
Florida State vs Boston College picks and predictions
This is going to be an ugly afternoon in Chestnut Hill thanks to the looming Hurricane Lee. Winds of over 30 mph with a 54% chance of rain are expected throughout the day. These conditions will significantly affect these two groups' ability to throw and kick the football.
For the Florida State Seminoles to cover the spread, they’ll have to do two things a bit better than they’ve already done pretty well this season. One, they need to stop the Boston College Eagles ground game. Two, Seminoles RB Trey Benson must have a big game.
The Seminoles have done a good job stopping the run, allowing 108 rushing yards per matchup to go with just three rushing TDs, and they match up nicely against a Boston College offense averaging 176 rushing yards per game.
The Seminoles' top task for stopping Boston College is containing Eagles QB Thomas Castellanos and RB Kye Robichaux. Castellanos leads the team in rushing and has one TD on the ground. Robichaux averages 4.9 yards per attempt, but the Seminoles defense allows an average of 3.95 yards per play.
Boston College leads the country in tackles allowed for a loss (3), but the FSU defense has nine tackles for a loss. If FSU can control their defensive line of scrimmage, and I believe they will, they’ll add to their average this Saturday, and Boston College will find it difficult to reach the end zone.
Florida State must control the offensive line of scrimmage, and it has one of the best O-lines in the college game. Benson scampered behind that line last week for 79 yards and three TDs on just nine attempts. He’ll be the workhorse, and while FSU quarterback Jordan Travis is more known for his arm, he averages 4.6 yards per attempt with a TD.
The Eagles rushing defense allows a 122nd-ranked 215 yards and 3.5 rushing TDs per game, and I expect to see Benson and Travis shred the soft Eagles defense and find the end zone. They’ll rinse, lather, and repeat this enough on Saturday to cover the spread.
My best bet: Florida State -26 (-110 at Caesars)
Florida State vs Boston College same-game parlay
We’ve already shared why FSU will cover the -26, but we paid an extra nickel for the half point.
The total opened at 56 points and dropped to 47.5 at DraftKings, but the SGP odds differ. That’s a big drop in the number and maybe a slight overreaction to the forecast. The wind and rain will play a role in this game, but FSU has an underrated rushing attack, and the Eagles haven’t stopped anyone on the ground this season.
