The Michigan Wolverines suffered their first loss of the season last week after Michigan State stunned them with a late rally. That loss hurt Michigan’s chances at a College Football Playoff spot... but the dream isn’t over just yet.
The Wolverines will have to run the table to remain relevant, starting with a home matchup against an underwhelming Indiana Hoosiers team — where college football betting odds have installed Michigan as a nearly three-touchdown favorite.

Indiana vs Michigan predictions
Michigan -20.5 (-110)
The Michigan Wolverines lost a stunner to the Michigan State Spartans last week, blowing a 30-14 third-quarter lead in an eventual 37-33 defeat. All Michigan can do is put the game behind it and move on.
The Wolverines will look to rebound against a struggling Indiana team that is now onto its third quarterback of the season. Backup QB Jack Tuttle, who was elevated following Michael Penix Jr.'s injury five weeks ago, is doubtful, meaning true freshman Donaven McCulley will get his second start of the season.
McCulley went 14 for 25 against Maryland for 242 yards and two touchdowns last week, but it wasn’t enough as Indiana suffered a close 38-35 road loss to the Terrapins. McCulley finished the day with a QBR of just 44.4 — which wasn't good enough against Maryland and certainly won’t fly against Michigan.
The Wolverine's defense is one of the best in the Big Ten: The defensive line does very well at generating pressure on the QB also getting through the offensive line for tackles in the backfield. For Indiana, the rushing defense is its best aspect, as the Hoosiers have allowed 126.1 yards per game on the ground this season. However, the coverage is weak and the pass rush isn’t much better.
With freshman receiver Andrel Anthony starting to come around, Michigan might elect to throw a little more today and see what he is capable of, which could add another element to a Michigan offense that already averages 37.1 points and 456.5 yards per game.
We’ll take Michigan at -20.5 in this game. There’s no way you can back a third-string quarterback against this Michigan defense.
Under 51 (-110)
Indiana is scoring just 22 ppg this year and although McCulley helped Indiana reach 35 points last week, that’s not going to happen this week against Michigan.
Also, the Wolverines are a run-first offense but Indiana has held opponents in check-in the ground game this year. If there’s anything to brag about with this 2-6 Hoosiers team, it’s that Indiana has a solid rushing defense.
A couple stops here and there on the ground will help the clock tick away — and the Under cashes for bettors.
