Two teams battling in the Sun Belt’s West division collide Tuesday night when the Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns visit the Texas State Bobcats.
Both of these teams can score when they want: the Bobcats ring up 34.7 points per game, while LLU is right behind them at 34.1. That should give us ample options when choosing our Louisiana vs. Texas State predictions.
Our college football picks will start with the ULL pivot coming off his best game of the season.

Louisiana vs Texas State college football player props
Prop bet #1: Ben Wooldridge 2+ passing touchdowns
Senior quarterback Ben Wooldridge is having a nice closing campaign for the Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns. He was 27-for-36 for 373 yards last week, his highest output of the year, and his first 300-yard game since Week 1 in a 34-24 win over Coastal Carolina.
He also matched a season-high with three TD passes, the third time he’s hit that mark on the year. He's thrown for at least two scores in five of LLU’s games this season and has hit that number in four of the last five games.
The Texas State Bobcats have a good passing defense, but by no means are they bulletproof. They’ve allowed three quarterbacks to throw for 2+ scores against them in a game this season.
Wooldridge will be one of the best they see this year, and he'll have success as such.
Prop bet #2: Terance Carter anytime touchdown
It’s been a midseason blowup for sophomore pass-catcher Terrance Carter.
The 239-pound tight end is coming off his best game of the season, hauling in seven balls for 149 yards and a score against Coastal Carolina. That's coming off his first 100-yard game of the season, catching four passes for 107 yards and a TD against Appalachian State.
His 256 receiving yards over the last two weeks are more than the 210 combined he had through the first five games of the season.
Let’s ride the hot hand and take the plus-money odds of Wooldridge finding him in the end zone for the third straight game.
Prop bet #3: Jordan McCloud anytime touchdown
Last week’s 24-14 loss to Old Dominion was quarterback Jordan McCloud’s worst game of the season. He was limited to 173 yards passing (his previous low was 238) and was picked off twice.
However, the dual-threat pivot did produce a rushing score — the third straight game he’s run one in — and his five rushing touchdowns lead the team.
Louisiana boasts the top passing defense in the Sun Belt, holding opponents to just 166.3 yards per game, so I don’t know if this is the spot for a get-right passing performance from him.
However, Texas State can lean on its run game, which churns out 185.4 yards per game, fourth in the conference. I expect McCloud to use his legs and love these odds of him running it in for a fourth straight contest.
