The Nick Saban era is over.

After winning an impressive six National Championships for Alabama, the legendary college football coach, widely regarded as the best of all time, has decided to hang up his coaching hat and retire.

The news sent shockwaves through the sporting world, but as is the case with any coaching change, the show must go on. Alabama's CFP Title odds have already dropped from +500 to +1,000 and you can now find college football odds on who will have the daunting task of filling his shoes in Tuscaloosa.

Reports suggest Alabama have found their man as former Washington Huskies HC Kalen DeBoer is in ongoing contract negotiations with the Crimson Tide to take over the vacant HC role.

Favorites to be next Alabama head coach

Kalen DeBoer (OTB)

Kalen DeBoer it is.

According to reports, DeBoer is in contract talks with the Crimson Tide to finalize a deal that would make him the 28th coach in Alabama's history.

Why? He's a serial winner. He owns a 104-12 head coaching record. He just took his team to the National Championship, and he (likely) won't be that expensive.

Dabo Swinney (OTB)

If Alabama is looking for consistency, then Dabo Swinney is the man for the job.

Swinney knows how to win, as seen by his two National Championships over the span of three years. Even with a lesser Clemson squad the last few seasons, Swinney has brought home two bowl wins to boot.

The only issue is, he's not going to come cheap. Swinney is one of the highest-paid coaches in all of college football and a buyout (he's under contract with Clemson until 2031) would cost Alabama a pretty penny.

Not that they can't afford it. I just don't believe Alabama goes down the route of buying a coach. They have to save that money for NIL.

Tommy Rees (OTB)

If Alabama is looking to go the in-house route, Tommy Reese is a logical choice for the head coaching position.

He's already the team's offensive coordinator and while he's taken his fair share of criticism for his play calling, he does know the players and the system.

While I do believe this would be a stop-gap hire, Rees could be in play at this nice price.
