Oklahoma State was the lone remaining undefeated team in the Big 12, but after last week’s loss to Texas, the conference will be hard-pressed to send a team to the College Football Playoff this season.

If the Cowboys want any hope they’ll likely need to win out in impressive fashion, and that starts this week when they visit Kansas State, where the Pokes are 12.5-point favorites.

Let’s take a look at our best college football predictions for Oklahoma State at Kansas State, with kickoff scheduled for Saturday, November 7 at 4:00 ET.

It should be a nice afternoon in Manhattan for college football. The forecast is calling for partly cloudy skies, with temperatures in the mid-60s. But there will be a strong 15-17 mph wind gusting towards the northern end zone. Be sure to monitor the gametime conditions with our NCAA football weather info.

Against the spread (ATS) pick

Yes, with Oklahoma and Texas both featuring two losses on their resumes, the Big 12 was pinning all its hopes on Oklahoma State. But the Pokes came up short against the Longhorns and will now have to run the table in impressive fashion if they want any hope to get to the College Football Playoff. But there is reason to believe they can do that.

These aren’t your dad’s Pokes—this OK-State team prides itself on its defense. It ranks 10th in the country in total yards allowed per game, including 10th against the pass. The Cowboys are also allowing 17.4 points per game, but it’s quite easy to point out why they lost to Texas. The Pokes outgained the Longhorns by a whopping 243 yards, but turned over the ball four times and allowed a kick return for a touchdown. Fix up the mistakes and they should get back on track.

Kansas State is tough but is down to its backup QB after Skylar Thompson suffered a season-ending injury a few weeks ago. As a result, the Wildcats rank 83rd in total yards.

Oklahoma State has had issues of its own on offense, particularly on the offensive line, as star RB Chubba Hubbard is averaging just 4.6 yards per carry this year. But look for QB Spencer Sanders to try and take advantage of a Wildcats secondary that ranks 81st in the country, yielding 274.2 yards per game, and could be without their best defensive back in A.J. Parker. We like the Pokes to bounce back.

PREDICTION: Oklahoma State -12.5 (-110)

Over/Under pick

This Big 12 matchup has a remarkably low total. It's almost so low that it makes you feel like the books know something we don’t. While the Oklahoma State offense is still finding itself, it does has some very talented skill position players at its disposal, and is putting up nearly 30 points per game.

On top of that, it’s hard to be sure if this Wildcats defense is capable of taking advantage of those Cowboys’ deficiencies, particularly without their best defender.

For the K-State offense, Will Howard needs to cut down on the turnovers, and if they do, the Wildcats should put up more than the 10-points they did against West Virginia. Plus, they should get a little boost playing at home. Take the Over.

PREDICTION: Over 46 (-110)

Team Total Prop Pick

As mentioned before, it really seems like Kansas State will have issues slowing down Oklahoma State in this one.

Don’t be surprised if the Pokes try to get Hubbard rolling after watching the Wildcats allow the Mountaineers to rumble for 184 yards on the ground last week. Oklahoma State getting its season average for points basically puts them above their team total for Saturday.

PREDICTION: Oklahoma State team total Over 30.5 (-110)
