Divisional Round NFL Betting Trends: Little Brotherly Love Heading Rams' Way

With the Philadelphia Eagles boasting an elite defense and the Rams' offense often starting flat on the road, points could be scarce for L.A. on Sunday.

Thankfully the Wild Card round is over because that was one of the ugliest, least competitive weeks of football we’ve had all season.

Taking a look at standout betting results from last week, home teams dominated, covering the spread in five of the six games, while the Under also hit in five of the six games.

However, it could be tough for that home domination to carry over to this round — with the Chiefs and Lions both favored by 8.5 points, while the Eagles come in as a six-point favorite. Also standing out are two high-end totals: Commanders/Lions at a sky-high 55.5 and Ravens/Bills at 51.5.

Here are my favorite NFL betting trends for each game this week. Best of luck out there!

Best NFL Divisional Round betting trends

Texans vs Chiefs

The trend: The Chiefs are 8-2 ATS in their last 10 playoff games

The Kansas City Chiefs save their best for the biggest games, which has resulted in covering a majority of spreads. This game has an 8.5-point spread, which is a pretty big move from when these two teams met about a month ago in Kansas City (the Chiefs were only favored by three and eventually won 27-19). It's important to note that the Chiefs have won 11 straight home games, which makes a teaser option very attractive.

Commanders vs Lions

The trend: The Lions are 14-5 ATS in their last 19 games

This is as straightforward as it gets, but Dan Campbell's team thrives coming off rest. The last time the Detroit Lions enjoyed a bye week, they went on to smash the Cowboys by 38 points.

Rams vs Eagles

The trend: Philadelphia allows a league-low 5.9 first-half points at home

This is more of a stat than a trend but it aligns strongly with a Los Angeles Rams offense that averaged just 6.9 points in the first half when playing on the road. You can attack this a few different ways from a betting perspective. You can opt for a straightforward Philadelphia Eagles first-half spread bet at -3.5, or take the Under on the Rams' first-half team total, set at 9.5 points.

Ravens vs Bills

The trend: The Bills are an NFL best 14-4 to the Over on their team total

This includes the Buffalo Bills going 8-1 to the Over on their team total at home after dropping 31 points on the Broncos last week, which marked their eighth 30+ point game at Highmark Stadium this season. Much has been made of the defensive turnaround for the Baltimore Ravens, but that turnaround has come against some weak offenses. Buffalo has a listed team total of 25.5 for Sunday night's main event.
