The San Francisco 49ers are in the NFC Championship Game for the third straight season and the NFL odds board has them as at least seven-point favorites against the Detroit Lions.
Veteran tight end George Kittle has been with the 49ers for San Francisco’s ups and downs in recent years. He came up big in last week’s win over the Green Bay Packers with the 49ers’ first touchdown of the game.
Kittle is looking to continue making an impact in the Super Bowl odds as the 49ers host the Lions at Levi’s Stadium on Sunday.

George Kittle NFC Championship prop pick
Longest reception Over 24.5 yards (-110 at DraftKings)
The San Francisco 49ers may need to use George Kittle in the passing game even more than usual with Deebo Samuel battling a shoulder injury.
While head coach Kyle Shanahan said that Samuel will be available for Sunday’s game after being a full participant in practice, he may not be 100% and the 49ers could then turn to Kittle more.
Kittle has been a weapon for Brock Purdy all season long and that continued last week with a 32-yard touchdown in the second quarter. The tight end has also consistently been targeted down the field this season.
Kittle’s 32-yard catch was his 10th time this season having a reception longer than 25 yards in 17 games this season. He’s also had a catch of 32 yards or more in five of his last six contests. The tight end is capable of going up and beating opposing defenders to make tough catches, and he can add some yards after the catch as well.
The Detroit Lions' defense has been susceptible against tight ends this season. Last week Tampa Bay tight end Cade Otton had five catches (on eight targets) for 65 yards, including a 27-yard reception.
Kittle has consistently been a downfield threat for the 49ers and they showed confidence in him last week. He should continue to wreak havoc on the defense in the NFC Championship Game against Detroit.
Prop: Longest reception Over 24.5 yards (-110 at DraftKings) 30% boost available
George Kittle NFC Championship same-game parlay
Let’s go back to Cade Otton’s stat line last week. He had five catches for 65 yards and a touchdown. That was the seventh touchdown the Detroit Lions allowed to tight ends this season, and also the seventh time they let tight ends accumulate at least 60 receiving yards.
The San Francisco 49ers should look to replicate that against Detroit on Sunday.
Kittle may have only gone Over 4.5 receptions five times this season, but one of those was in one of their biggest games of the year against the Ravens. He had seven catches for 126 yards in that game.
The tight end has also scored a touchdown in five games this season, including twice in his last five contests.
The 49ers are going to need to give Christian McCaffrey a lot of touches, but those early-game carries could lead to some play-action passes later on. We saw Kittle score on a bit of a broken play last week and it seems like he knows how to find the ball when needed.
If Kittle is going to have a big game, getting nearly three-to-one odds for him to hit these overs and score a touchdown seems like a good bet.
