My analysis
Unlike most teams left in the playoffs, the best player on this Minnesota Vikings offense isn’t the quarterback but rather wideout Justin Jefferson.
The Los Angeles Rams only gave up an average of 10.4 receptions per game to wide receivers this season, the second lowest total in the NFL, with the team giving up chunk plays to tight ends. Justin Jefferson, however, might just be the best receiver in the NFL.
He's averaged just over six catches per game this season but has consistently seen a high volume of targets from Sam Darnold, with an average of nine targets per game. He's gone Over this number in eight of 12 games since the Week 6 bye.
Over the last six weeks, we've seen that usage continue to increase, with 7+ receptions and 9+ targets in five of those six games. He's also had double-digit targets in three of those.
It's also worth looking back at Week 8, when these teams met at SoFi. The Vikings lost that game, but Jefferson himself had a big game, hauling in eight of nine targets for 115 yards. He's the star of this offense, and the team will look to get the ball in his hands as frequently as they can.
Justin Jefferson same-game parlay
Justin Jefferson Over 6.5 receptions
TJ Hockenson Over 45.5 receiving yards
Jordan Addison anytime touchdown
We're also going to target T.J. Hockenson, who comes into this game after a poor performance against the Lions in which he only had nine yards but eight targets. He's played 10 times this season and has gone Over 45.5 yards in exactly half of those games.
Only three teams have allowed more yardage per game to tight ends than the Rams this season, who are giving up an average of 64 yards per game to the position. With the Rams focusing on stopping Justin Jefferson, the middle of the field should be open for Hockenson to work.
The final leg of this SGP sees Jordan Addison finding the end zone. Addison is another Viking who often benefits from defenses focusing on Jefferson. Jefferson has 10 touchdowns this season, with Addison only one behind, despite playing two fewer games. We’ve really seen Addison explode with five touchdowns in as many games to end the season.
