Week 16 Injuries

Kansas City Chiefs: Clyde Edwards-Helaire could miss the final two games of the regular season with hip/ankle injuries. On Friday, Edwards-Helaire was ruled out for Sunday's game against Atlanta. That makes Kansas City's in-season acquisition of Le'Veon Bell look even more prudent. Wideout Tyreek Hill (hamstring) is listed as questionable but is expected to play Sunday. The SuperBook at Westgate opened the Chiefs 10.5-point home favorites, and the line dipped to 10 for about 12 hours Monday, and on Friday, the line reached -11. The total did a back-and-forth from 53.5 to 54 to 53.5 over the course of the week.

Cleveland BrownsSaturday evening brought tidings of not-so-great joy for the Browns, as top wideout Jarvis Landry and fellow receivers Rashard Higgins, Donovan Peoples-Jones and KhaDarel Hodge were all put on the reserve/COVID list. All four were considered high-risk close contacts, so all four are out of Sunday's road game against the Jets. Cleveland also is missing 2/5 of its offensive line, as tackle Jedrick Wills Jr. was ruled out Sunday morning, joining guard Wyatt Teller. The line at The SuperBook plunged from Browns -9.5 to -6 in about 30 minutes as the WR news broke. The number then rebounded to -7 later Saturday night. The total fell from its high of 47.5 to 44.

New England PatriotsCornerback Stephon Gilmore suffered a partially torn quad in Week 15 at Miami, ending the season for the NFL's reigning defensive player of the year. The Patriots opened +6.5 at home for the Week 16 Monday nighter vs. Buffalo and were up to +7 Monday morning.

Washington Football Team: Quarterback Alex Smith (calf) missed last week's home loss to Seattle, and while he's listed as questionable, it looks like he'll sit out Sunday at home against Carolina after experiencing soreness Saturday night. Top wideout Terry McLaurin (ankle) is doubtful, and Washington is down to -1 at The SuperBook, after opening -2 and spending much of the week at -2.5.

Los Angeles RamsRunning back Cam Akers is out Sunday at Seattle with a high ankle sprain. The SuperBook opened the Rams +2 and initially moved to +2.5, then interestingly went to Rams +1.5. The total is also up a point to 47.5.

Dallas Cowboys: Running back Ezekiel Elliott (calf) was a late scratch for the Week 15 win over San Francisco, and he is questionable for Sunday's Week 16 home tilt against Philadelphia. But it appears Elliott will play. Wide receiver Michael Gallup suffered a hip injury in the win over the 49ers, but it appears he'll play, as well. Dallas opened +1.5 at The SuperBook and spent about an hour Monday, then climbed to Cowboys +2.5 and eventually +3. The Eagles-Cowboys total initially moved up from 49.5 to 50.5, but it ticked to 49 Friday night. Sunday morning, the total was at 50.

New York Giants: Quarterback Daniel Jones (hamstring/ankle) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game at Baltimore, but he's expected to play. The Giants opened +9.5 and stretched to +10.5, then went back to +9.5 on Saturday at The SuperBook.

Jacksonville Jaguars: Running back James Robinson (ankle) is out for Sunday's home game against Chicago. The Jaguars opened +6.5 and moved to 7.5-point pups Monday, where the line has remained most of the week.

Pittsburgh Steelers: Running back James Conner (quad) missed Monday night's stunning upset loss at Cincinnati, but it appears he's a go for Sunday's critical home game against Indianapolis. The SuperBook opened the Steelers -2.5, and the line came off the board during the Steelers-Bengals game. It went back up Tuesday with the Steelers a 1.5-point underdog, and the Conner upgrade didn't change that number Friday.

Los Angeles ChargersTop wideout Keenan Allen (hamstring) is doubtful for Sunday's home game against Denver. The Chargers remained 3-point favorites Saturday at The SuperBook, but the total dipped a half-point to 48.5.

Las Vegas Raiders: Quarterback Derek Carr has a groin injury that could keep him out of the final two regular-season games. Late-week reports indicated Carr just might take the field, but the Raiders remained 3-point underdogs Friday night at The SuperBook, where the line opened Las Vegas +2.5.

San Francisco 49ers: Quarterback Nick Mullens (concussion) is out for Saturday's game at Arizona, as is running back Raheem Mostert (ankle) and wideout Deebo Samuel. The 49ers opened +3 and by Monday night were already up to 4.5-point underdogs. By Tuesday afternoon, the Niners were up to +5 at The SuperBook, where the line remained through Friday night.

Detroit LionsQuarterback Matthew Stafford (ribs/thumb) is questionable for Saturday's home game against Tampa Bay. The Lions opened +7.5 at The SuperBook and hit +9.5 on Wednesday.

Week 16 Weather

Atlanta Falcons at Kansas City Chiefs: The updated forecast practically eliminated the chance of rain Sunday, but winds of 10-20 mph are expected. The SuperBook opened the total at 53.5 and moved to 54, then on Friday went back to 53.5 and on Saturday to 53.

Tennessee Titans at Green Bay Packers: There's a 95 percent chance of snow during the day Sunday, with 1-3 inches of accumulation ahead of this Sunday night game. During the game, there's an 80 percent chance of snow, with temperatures likely in the low-to-mid 20s and winds of 10-20 mph. The total moved from 56 to 55 by Friday morning, then back up to 55.5 at The SuperBook. But over the weekend, it's dipped down to 53.5.

Buffalo Bills at New England Patriots: The last Monday night game of the season – there is no Week 17 Monday nighter – has seen the forecast improve throughout the week, from a 50/50 chance of rain showers to virtually no chance of precipitation. The total at The SuperBook opened 45.5, initially dipped to 45, then steadily crept up to 47.5 a few hours ahead of kickoff.

Week 16 Consensus

Week 16 Pros vs Joes

San Francisco 49ers at Arizona Cardinals"Sharp money on the 49ers has offset the public play on Arizona, and we are even on that game inside of 24 hours to kickoff," SuperBook risk manager Rex Beyers said Friday night.

Indianapolis Colts at Pittsburgh SteelersThe Steelers' two-game skid, including Monday night's shocking upset loss at Cincinnati, has the public running the other way, jumping on the Colts. The SuperBook opened Pittsburgh -2.5, and in the aftermath of the Cincy debacle, the line jumped the fence to Indianapolis -1.5. "After the Steelers' recent performances, the public will look for any chance they can get to bet against the Steelers," SuperBook oddsmaker Cameron Coombs said, noting the line move should attract sharp play on Pittsburgh. "We think this line should be closer to a pick."
