Betting Trend to Know
The Rams are 5-1 ATS against teams with a winning record. Find more NFL betting trends for Rams vs. Cardinals.
Against the Spread (ATS) Pick
Despite their impressive season records, neither of these teams has looked good recently. The Rams are 3-3 SU and ATS in their last six games and are coming off a 20-23 loss against a heavily banged-up 49ers team.
The Cardinals are 1-3 SU and 0-4 ATS in their previous four contests and lost to the Patriots on a last-second field goal last week.
Led by second-year QB Kyler Murray, the Cardinals can move the chains, ranking second in the league with 403.7 yards per game. However, the Rams aren't too shabby on offense either, featuring a well-rounded attack that ranks sixth with 389.2 ypg.
The difference will likely come down to defense, and the Rams have a clear advantage in that area, allowing the second-fewest yards and the fourth-fewest points in the league.
The Cardinals are middle-of-the-pack in both categories, ranking 15th in yards allowed, and their run defense has been particularly bad, surrendering 123.4 rushing yards per game and 4.5 yards per carry.
The Rams don't have a true No. 1 running back but they've still been very efficient on the ground, rolling up 124.6 rushing yards per game. Look for them to find running room against Arizona while their defense limits Murray enough to get the win and cover.
PREDICTION: Los Angeles Rams -3 (+100)
Over/Under Pick
As good as Arizona has looked with the ball this season, there are some holes in their offense, which showed in their 17-point performance against the Pats. The Cardinals are one of the most penalized teams in the league and Murray has a habit of locking onto DeAndre Hopkins, which limits his options in the passing game.
That could spell trouble against a Rams stop-unit that allows the fewest yards per play in the league and, thanks to Defensive Player of the Year favorite Aaron Donald, is fourth in sacks.
The Cardinals have gone 8-3 to the Under this season, while the Rams have cashed the Under in seven of their previous eight games. Back the Under again on Sunday.
PREDICTION: Under 48.5 (-110)
Player Prop
Murray has emerged as a standout QB in just his second year in the league, but last year's Rookie of the Year still isn't the most consistent passer. The O/U on Murray's passing yards is set at 249.5 for Sunday's contest, a total he has surpassed in four of his last eight games.
That said, three of the four times he went Over that number, Murray was up against the Jets and Seahawks, who have two of the worst pass defenses in the league.
Don't expect anywhere near that level of success against a Rams stop-unit that allows just 203.5 passing yards per game and holds opposing QBs to a passer rating of just 78.5, second-best in the league. Add in a shoulder injury that limited Murray at practice on Wednesday and you have us fading him on his passing yards total.
PREDICTION: Kyler Murray passing yards Under 249.5 (-120)
Rams vs Cardinals Betting Card
- Los Angeles Rams -3 (+100)
- Under 48.5 (-110)
- Kyler Murray passing yards Under 249.5 (-120)
