It’s Halloween week and a primetime showdown between Will Levis and Kenny Pickett may feel more trick than treat, but the Thursday Night Football odds are still somewhat compelling as the Pittsburgh Steelers host the Tennessee Titans.
The NFL Week 9 odds start here — and this contest has real implications for the back end of the AFC playoff picture. The 4-3 Steelers and the 3-4 Titans are both trailing division leaders, but they’re very much in the Wild Card hunt.
There was no Derrick Henry trade ahead of this week’s deadline as Tennessee looks to stay competitive in the second half of the season, and he’s going to be among the top NFL player props this evening.
I’m taking a deep dive into the NFL odds and sharing my free NFL picks for what’s set up to be a defense-first scrap.

Titans vs Steelers TNF props
Prop bet #1: King Henry rules
The Tennessee Titans likely would have had some tempting offers for Henry this week if they’d put him on the trade block, but they held firm on their stance to move forward with their powerhouse running back.
Free from that speculation, I see Henry responding with a big game tonight. Despite rushing for over 500 yards, it’s felt like a quiet season by his high standards, particularly as he’s posted just three touchdowns through seven games.
However, he’s looked more like himself in his past two outings, including 101 rushing yards on 22 carries over the weekend against the Falcons. A Week 7 bye week seemed to pay off for Henry, and I’m taking the plus-money Derrick Henry odds for him to find the end zone.
Will Levis’ impressive debut on Sunday is another reason to feel good about the Henry props. With Tennessee showing more of a threat in the passing game, there should be running lanes for Henry to exploit, but I still prefer the TD prop over his rushing yards total given that he’s been limited by an ankle injury this week.
The Pittsburgh Steelers have struggled against the run this year, giving up 137 rushing yards a game, but Mike Tomlin’s defense has only allowed four touchdowns on the ground.
Still, Henry is a one-man wrecking crew and I like him to make one of the Titans’ red zone trips count.
Derrick Henry prop: Anytime TD (+145 at Caesars)
Prop bet #2: Can't stop D-Hop
There was a lot to like about Will Levis’ first NFL start on Sunday, and his connection with Hopkins is right at the top of the list.
It had been an up-and-down year for D-Hop with Ryan Tannehill under center, but he exploded for 128 yards and three touchdowns with Levis airing it out.
Going up against a Pittsburgh defense that’s allowed 245 passing yards a game, which ranks in the bottom third of the NFL, he'll have every opportunity to go Over his prop totals in the DeAndre Hopkins odds again.
After the fireworks against the Falcons, I was expecting a higher line for his receiving yards and I’ll gladly take the Over on a total in the low 50s.
Hopkins’ route-running masterclass against Atlanta was the second time he’d gone past 100 yards in a game this year, and it’s fair to expect 6+ targets here, especially if the Steelers load the box to slow down Henry.
While T.J. Watt and the Pittsburgh front seven will pose a much sterner test for Levis in the pocket, Hopkins could hit the Over with just a couple of catches and he had two grabs of 45+ yards at the weekend.
Don’t count on a stat line to match his Week 8 heroics, especially if he’s playing through a toe injury, but D-Hop is the clear No. 1 target in this Titans passing attack and I see Levis looking for him early and often Thursday night.
DeAndre Hopkins prop: Over 52.5 receiving yards (-115 at bet365)
Prop bet #3: Hard times for Harris
The Pittsburgh offense has been a tough watch for most of the season, barring the odd highlight reel catch from George Pickens, and Week 8 was no different as the Steelers crawled to 10 points in a loss to the Jaguars.
Kenny Pickett is expected to suit up after suffering a rib injury against the Jaguars, but this Pittsburgh ground game looks to be on fumes heading into TNF. The hosts turned 18 carries into just 70 yards at the weekend.
It’s unfair to pin all of that on Harris, but he’s having another disappointing season and managed only 13 yards on seven carries against Jacksonville, while also losing touches to Jaylen Warren again.
Looking at the Najee Harris odds and given the way his year is trending, I’m taking the Under on his rushing yards prop against a Tennessee run defense that’s better than the numbers suggest.
The Titans have faced four of the Top-10 rushing offenses so far this year, including the Falcons and Ravens in their last two contests. That’s skewed the stats, but the visitors have plenty of big bodies to wreak havoc up front.
Harris has only had more than 14 carries once this season and I expect Mike Vrabel’s game plan to focus on making Pittsburgh turn to the passing game. This feels like an Under.
Najee Harris prop: Under 45.5 rushing yards (-101 at Caesars)
