The Vegas Golden Knights are coming off a big overtime win vs. the Bruins on Thursday, but are just 4-8 in their last 12. Tonight, they host a hot Calgary Flames team as slight -135 home favorites in the latest NHL odds.

The Knights come in with a much better record on the year, but are their recent scoring woes and Calgary’s solid form enough to take the dogs in Sin City on Saturday night?

Find out in my free NHL picks and predictions for Flames vs. Golden Knights on January 13.

Flames vs Golden Knights odds

Flames vs Golden Knights predictions

The Vegas Golden Knights enjoyed a run at the beginning of the season, but things have gone a little south since.

They hold a 4-8 record in their last 12 matches dating back to before the Christmas break, with a minus-13 goal differential, the 23rd-ranked power play, and the poorest penalty kill in hockey. Vegas is also dealing with injuries as defensemen Ben Hutton and Shea Theodore remain out and the goaltending situation is up in the air.

Adin Hill has returned but there's still uncertainty about his readiness to play, while Logan Thompson was dealing with an illness earlier in the week.

Meanwhile, Jacob Markstrom has been tremendous down the stretch for the Calgary Flames, going 6-3 with a 2.13 GAA and a .933 SV% since returning to the lineup in mid-December.

The Flames are providing solid goal support, averaging 3.67 goals per game despite ranking 27th in power play efficiency. Calgary is performing well offensively at 5-on-5 and enters tonight's game as a live underdog, taking advantage of the Knights' let-down spot, given their absence of back-to-back wins since December 12.

The betting market also favors the Flames, who boast a 5-2 record in their last seven games. With an extra incentive to perform well tonight and secure a win for a smoother road trip, the Flames opened at +120 on the moneyline and have shifted to as short as +105.

I would play Calgary up to +110.

Flames vs Golden Knights same-game parlay

Flames moneyline

Under 6.5

Flames first period -0.5

Let's go wire-to-wire with the Flames, who enter with the better offense and have a decent special teams advantage. Vegas is also one of the lowest-scoring teams in the first frame, with 32 tucks in 42 games.

The Golden Knights have experienced a recent dip in performance thanks to an abundance of injuries, and Hill has been sidelined for over a month. Against a reeling Vegas team, Calgary might opt to secure an early lead and employ a keep-away strategy.

Flames vs Golden Knights moneyline and Over/Under analysis

Oddsmakers opened this game up at Calgary at +120 on the moneyline, but it has since moved to as short as +105.

Neither team is projected to have any success with the man advantage as both power plays have been horrendous over the last 30, but Vegas might have Hill back tonight, and Markstrom has overcome an early-season slump and is picking up wins of late.

Vegas has scored more than three goals just twice over its last 10 games and sits just one spot above the Ducks in Corsi% at 5-on-5 since December 1. The Knights are losing the possession battle thanks to injuries on the blue line, but they’re also missing William Karlsson and William Cartier, which might reflect their league-worst PK over the last 30 days.

I’m on the Flames moneyline at +110 or better and the Under 6.5 at -125 or better. As for props, the Knights are still top-heavy on the No.1 line, while the Flames have boasted a very balanced attack with 10 skaters recording five or more points over the last eight games.
