The Winnipeg Jets and Pittsburgh Penguins return from the All-Star break with a matchup at PPG Paints Arena. The NHL odds have this game around a pick’em, with both teams looking to start the final stretch of the season strong.
The Jets have been one of the best teams in the league this season at 30-12-5 overall and haven’t had much of a problem on the road at 14-5-3. Meanwhile, Pittsburgh is 22-17-7 on the season and just 12-8-3 at home.

Jets vs Penguins predictions
The Winnipeg Jets are one of the best teams in the Western Conference and they only got stronger during the break by acquiring center Sean Monahan from the Montreal Canadiens for a first-round pick. Winnipeg was able to get by without top goalscorer Kyle Connor due to injury for a few weeks and now the Jets are locked and loaded for the final stretch of the season.
The Jets should also be getting Mark Scheifele back from injury tonight in Pittsburgh. It’s a welcomed addition for Winnipeg after losing three straight games — and going 2-3-1 without him — to enter the All-Star break.
The real backbone of the Jets is their Vezina-caliber goaltender Connor Hellebuyck. Hellebuyck is currently the odds-on favorite for the Vezina Trophy and for good reason. The veteran netminder is 23-9-3 with a 2.20 GAA and .924 SV% in 35 games this season. He’s looking for his second Vezina after winning it with a .922 SV% back in the 2019-20 season.
Hellebuyck has helped the Jets be one of the most profitable Under teams this season. The Under is 25-15-7 in Winnipeg’s 47 games, and the Jets allowed three goals or fewer in 34 straight games before giving up four to Boston and Toronto before the break.
The Penguins trend to the Under as well at 27-16-3 this season due to solid goaltending in net and some lackluster goalscoring at times. The Pens team total Under 2.5 (+115) is an enticing play, but the Under 5.5 (+100) in the game is the safer bet.
My best bet: Under 5.5 (+100 at SIA)
Jets vs Penguins same-game parlay
The Jets are looking to come out of the All-Star break strong and everything is lined up for them to do so. They’re getting a few key players back and should be rested up for the home stretch.
The Jets should simply be bigger favorites against the mediocre Penguins. Pittsburgh has had some flashes with Sidney Crosby leading the way, but the Penguins haven’t been consistent enough this season.

Jets vs Penguins moneyline and Over/Under analysis
The Jets odds and Penguins odds are both at -110 as of Tuesday morning.
There could be some line movement here depending on the goalie matchup. However, it should be both starters in net after a week off (or a few days for Hellebuyck after the All-Star Game) with Hellebuyck projected to face off against Tristan Jarry (13-14-4, 2.53 GAA, .913 SV%).
I wouldn’t expect the total to move too much either, although it is a bit curious that the Over 5.5 (-120) is slightly favored over the Under 5.5 (+100). If this line somehow gets up to a flat six, I would jump on the Under 6.0 in case of a 4-2 game with an empty-net goal.
