The Edmonton Oilers pulled off a comeback victory Friday night, erasing an early 2-0 deficit en route to an overtime win over Utah.
They have now claimed 13 of a possible 20 points over the last 10 games as they continue to climb the standings following a slow start.
Saturday they’ll take on a team on a similar trajectory as, after a disappointing beginning to the year, the Colorado Avalanche has caught fire and won seven of its last 10 games.
My Oilers vs. Avalanche predictions see the remarkable firepower in this game coming to the forefront in a high-scoring battle between two top teams.
Let’s take a closer look at my NHL picks for November 30.

My Oilers analysis
The Edmonton Oilers are consistently one of the league’s highest-scoring teams. It is a right of passage when you roster two generational talents in Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl.
After a sluggish start to the season, McDavid and Draisaitl have the Oilers humming offensively once again.
Edmonton has scored at least three goals in eight of the last nine games. They have found the back of the net 35 times in that span, a total bested by only the Dallas Stars and Washington Capitals.
The Oilers find themselves in a good spot to keep the gravy train rolling against a Colorado Avalanche team that struggles mightily to keep the puck out.
The Avs have given up 3.71 goals per game this season, ranking them 30th in the NHL. It’s not so much that they’re loose defensively and need to tighten up – they’re generally limiting shots and chances effectively. They just can’t get a save, which is even more problematic.
Alexandar Georgiev and tonight’s projected starter, Justus Annunen, own matching .872 save percentages on the season. Horrific outputs.
Starts have come few and far between for Annunen (he’s only gotten the nod three times over the past 11 games) and understandably so. He has allowed at least three goals in five of his past six games, holding a bad Philadelphia Flyers offense to two goals in the lone exception.
Unless Annunen can flip the switch out of nowhere, he’s likely in trouble going up against McDavid, Draisaitl, and a high-powered Oilers offense.
The good news for Annunen is his offense should be able to give him run support as well. Colorado is a Top-10 offense by goals per game and they feature the No. 6 power play in the NHL.
It's very impressive, considering they’ve dealt with a ton of injuries to date and are only just now starting to get healthy.
Expect plenty of offense in this one.
Oilers vs Avalanche same-game parlay (SGP)
Connor McDavid has been a man-possessed since returning from injury. He has 20 points over his last nine games and has recorded at least two on seven different occasions. He is littering his name all over the scoresheet on a nightly basis.
The NHL’s most dangerous player now faces a Colorado team that has gotten .855 goaltending on the year, good for dead last. They simply can’t get saves with any consistency, and McDavid is going to test them early and often.
Evan Bouchard is a nice correlation play. He spends a lot of his 5v5 minutes behind McDavid’s line and quarterbacks the top power play as well.
The Avalanche have struggled on the penalty kill of late, ranking Bottom-5 in shot suppression and allowing expected goals and actual goals at an above average rate. Bouchard is more than capable of taking advantage.
