The Edmonton Oilers will look to extend their point streak to five games tonight when they welcome the Seattle Kraken to Rogers Place, but they’ll have to do so without both Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl.

Thankfully for Edmonton, Zach Hyman has stepped up with goals in back-to-back games and I’ll be looking for him to continue his scoring streak in my Kraken vs Oilers predictions.

Oilers vs Kraken prediction

My Oilers pick: Zach Hyman anytime goalscorer (+140 at BET99)

My Oilers analysis
The Edmonton Oilers had their three-game winning streak ended on Thursday in a 4-3 overtime loss to the Winnipeg Jets, but Zach Hyman had another impactful evening as he scored the tying tally late in the third period.

Hyman has scored three goals in his last two games, and with both Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl sidelined tonight, he’ll be counted on as Edmonton’s offensive leader.

After starting the season ice cold with just three goals through the first two months, Hyman has scored 22 times since the start of December — tied for 10th-most among all skaters in the NHL and second-most on Edmonton behind only Draisaitl (32).

The veteran winger has been particularly active over the last couple of weeks, totaling at least three shots on net in five of his last seven outings and 5+ in four of those games.

Although the Oilers may be lacking substantial talent tonight, they should still be able to find a way to pot some goals against a Seattle Kraken team that ranks 23rd in goals against per game (3.20).

Joey Daccord will likely start for Seattle tonight, owning a brutal .865 SV% since February 25. The netminder has allowed 3+ goals in seven of his last eight starts and 4+ on four occasions over that span.

Oilers vs Kraken same-game parlay (SGP)

Zach Hyman anytime goalscorer

Brandon Montour Over 0.5 points

Under 6.5

While I’m looking for Hyman to lead the charge offensively for the Oilers, Brandon Montour has been doing just that for the Kraken — boasting a team-leading 11 points in 10 games this month.

Edmonton and Seattle tend to produce pretty tame games, combining for Under 6.5 goals in five of their last six head-to-head meetings. The Oilers are missing out on a combined 191 points from Draisaitl and McDavid, so their offense will naturally take a dip tonight.
