The Ottawa Senators are one of the seven Canadian markets in the NHL, and after Eugene Melnyk's two daughters put the team up for sale in November, the race for a new owner has been ongoing. The team has had no shortage of interest, as several Canadian billionaires such as Michael Andlauer and Roger Greenberg have made their intentions clear.

With the final bids deadline coming up on May 15 and the franchise valued at $800 million according to Forbes, see who is the favorite to land the keys to the Ottawa-based team.

Favorites to land the Ottawa Senators
Ryan Reynolds or The Remington Group (-185)
Oh Ryan Reynolds... he's got the looks, he's got the girl, he's even shown he can succeed as a team owner with his Welsh-based Wrexham football club winning their first league title in 45 years. And although all of that may be more than enough for most, Reynolds has shown plenty of interest in purchasing the Senators — with some help of course.
Reynolds made it known on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon that he was interested in purchasing the Sens, he just needed to find himself a "sugar mommy or sugar daddy,".

Thankfully for Deadpool, he seems to have found one in The Remington Group, with Reynolds and Christopher Bratty reportedly set to offer a ludicrous $1 billion proposal. Reynolds & Co. are also proposing building a new arena, looking to replace the infamous Canadian Tire Centre. With that number far exceeding what Forbes had listed, it's no surprise to see them so heavily favored.
Neko Sparks or Snoop Dogg (+400)
Whether he's cooking up something in the studio or delivering a people's elbow in front of the millions of people watching WrestleMania, Snoop Doggy Dogg is always looking for new ways to elevate his worth and entertain the masses. Now he's set his sights on becoming an NHL owner by joining the efforts led by Los Angeles' businessman Neko Sparks.
Snoop has never been shy of showing his love for the sport, showing up to Los Angeles Kings' games on a regular basis and even joining the broadcast team.

At +400, Snoop and Sparks are far behind Ryan Reynolds and The Remington Group, but they're reportedly all-in on trying to land the organization.
Jeffrey Kimel or Michael Kimel or The Weeknd (+400)
Rounding out the Top 3 in the Senators' sweepstakes is the Weeknd.
The Canadian has never been shy of repping for his country and now he's joining forces with billionaires Jeffrey and Michael Kimel to purchase one of Canada's very own teams.

The Weeknd is a lifelong hockey fan and would be thrilled to become an owner, but he and his team have a tough hill to climb if they want to match the top bid of $1 billion. Jeffrey and Michael's firm, Harlo Capital Group, is estimated to have $250 million in assets. It will be interesting to see if anybody can match the price Reynolds is willing to offer.
