The Florida Panthers are on the second end of a back-to-back and now face the Anaheim Ducks.
Anaheim is also playing its second consecutive game but is coming off a win on Saturday night, defeating Pacific Division rival San Jose.

Panthers vs Ducks picks and predictions
The Panthers would obviously love to earn a split for this road trip and might have found the perfect team for them to achieve that goal. In the three previous meetings, they have won all three. Two of them have been won by more than two goals.
The moneyline odds for this game are not good if you want to back the Cats. Florida is a -215 favorite, so I suggest going the puck line route with -1.5 being offered at +120.
In its last six games, Florida has won by more than two goals twice. Anaheim, however, is much more accommodating with two-goal margins. In its last six losses, the Ducks have lost by two or more goals five times.
Florida also gets a shaky goaltender in Anaheim’s John Gibson. The Ducks are tied for last in goaltending and Gibson is a big reason for that. Gibson is 58th in goals against at 4.58 and 44th in save percentage at .883. Another issue for Anaheim is its play at home, going 3-10 in its 13 last home games.
Any Ducks victory has been by either a shootout or overtime. They have two shootout wins and two overtime victories. The Panthers have only had one shootout and one overtime game all season. I don’t see this going beyond the third period and Florida should win by two or more goals.
My best bet: Panthers -1.5 (+120 at BetMGM)

Panthers vs Ducks moneyline analysis
With my belief that Florida is going to win, I am going to bet the moneyline and the best odds I could find is -205 at DraftKings. That’s not a great line but I feel pretty strong backing the Cats.
One of the reasons is because of the Duck's record, not only against the Panthers, where they have lost the last three meetings, but with playing on no day’s rest. They are 1-5 in that situation and are also 1-6 in their last seven games after scoring five or more goals in their previous game.
Florida is 4-1 in its last five games against Pacific Division teams and is 7-3 in the last 10 when allowing five or more goals the previous game.
Special teams might be a key to this game. The Ducks are the second most penalized team in the NHL with 154 penalty minutes. That is problematic since their penalty kill is next to last at 63.6%.
If they are in the box, the Panthers are going to have to take advantage of that. So far this season they haven’t done that. They are next to last in the power play, converting just 10.2% of the time.
Hopefully it won’t come to that for Florida and it can take advantage of the Ducks’ shaky goaltending.
Panthers vs Ducks Over/Under analysis
The total on this game is set at 6.5 with the best line for the Over at -108 at FanDuel. The Under is at +102 at BetRivers. The last three times these two teams have met, the Under has hit every time.
The Ducks are on a streak of Overs lately. It has hit in their last three games. However, prior to that, the Ducks were 5-0 on the Under. In the last seven games for the Panthers, the Under has hit four times.
If the Under is going to hit in Sunday night’s game, Florida is going to have to control Anaheim’s top two goal scorers. Troy Terry has five goals and 10 assists this season, while Trevor Zegras has six goals and two assists over his last 10 games.
Then there is the fatigue factor which shouldn’t be discounted. The Panthers are on playing their fourth road game. The Ducks had to go up to San Jose Saturday to play the Sharks, then turn around and come home.
I don’t think either team will be that sharp, and with the history of these two teams hitting the Under when they face each other, I look for that trend to continue.
Panthers vs Ducks betting trend to know
The Under is 6-1 in the last six meetings, including 4-0-2 in the last six in Anaheim. Find more NHL betting trends for Panthers vs Ducks.
