While the NHL playoffs can't start soon enough, the wild-card races and seeding battles keep the action exciting down the stretch, and there are 10 more games on the docket on Thursday, April 10.
Here are my three favorite NHL player props for tonight’s games.
NHL player prop bets today
Nazar Over 1.5 shots on goal (-115 at bet365)
Cooley Over 0.5 assists (+155 at bet365)
Boeser Under 0.5 points (-110 at DraftKings)
Best NHL player prop bets for April 10
Frank Nazar III Over 1.5 shots on goal (-115 at bet365)
Chicago Blackhawks rookie Frank Nazar III projects to slot in as the No. 2 center alongside pass-first winger Teuvo Teravainen against the Boston Bruins on Thursday, and he has shown an uptick in shot volume as he’s settled into the league. The 2022 first-round selection ranks second in shots and third in attempts per 60 minutes on the Hawks since the calendar flipped to February, and he’s recorded two or more shots in five of the past seven games.
Boston is far from a matchup to steer clear of, too.
The Bruins are 5-14-3 since the 4 Nations Face-Off, sporting a 28th-ranked Corsi For percentage at 5-on-5 and allowing the 10th-most shots per game in that span.
Logan Cooley Over 0.5 assists (+155 at bet365)
The Utah Hockey Club has loaded up their No. 1 line with Logan Cooley centering Clayton Keller and Dylan Guenther, and there’s nothing scary about a home date with the Nashville Predators for this dangerous trio, either.
Cooley, Keller, and Guenther have been on the ice for 6.49 goals and 15.47 high-danger scoring chances per 60 minutes, and they combined for two goals and five assists Tuesday against the Seattle Kraken.
With Nashville sporting the worst team save percentage at 5-on-5 and allowing 3.4 goals per game since the calendar flipped to March, I like Cooley to pick up a helper skating with Utah’s two leading goal-scorers.
Brock Boeser Under 0.5 points (-110 at DraftKings)
The Colorado Avalanche have allowed two goals or fewer in five consecutive home games, and they’ve been tidy defensively since shoring up their goaltending with the acquisition of Mackenzie Blackwood. Colorado has allowed the second-fewest goals per game (2.31) since his arrival, and Blackwood sports an elite .923 save percentage and 1.92 GAA across 19 home starts during the run.
It’s just not an ideal setup for Vancouver Canucks winger Brock Boeser. And while he’s picked up 11 points across his past 11 games, the pending unrestricted free agent has still missed the scoresheet entirely in five of the contests, including six of the past eight. Boeser has also benefited from great puck luck during the stretch.
He’s been on the ice for 5.18 goals per 60 minutes and an unsustainably high 17.6 team shooting percentage despite the Canucks generating just 3.7 expected goals. For comparison, Boeser was on the ice for 3.82 goals and 3.51 expected goals per 60 through the first 63 games of the season, and the Canucks posted a 12.5 team SH%.
