The point props did us well yesterday as the Thursday article went +4.15 units over the three picks. I love plus-money hockey prop bets.
Today is no different. Brent Burns is getting more opportunities in Carolina, there is a great double-double stack in Washington, and two of my favorite stacks collide in Detroit where the Hawks take on the red-hot Red Wings.
These are my three favorite NHL player props for Friday, January 10.

Today’s NHL prop picks and best bets
Prop bet #1: Brent Burns Over 0.5 power play points
Brent Burns has taken over the first power play for the Carolina Hurricanes, which has not been great of late, but the change from Ty Smith to Burns with Shayne Gostisbehere out could get things going tonight.
Since Burns was promoted yesterday, the books have not adjusted the price enough for his PP point, which is sitting at +600 at bet365. This is a gigantic number, and not one priced for a PP1 QB.
The Vancouver Canucks have dropped eight of their last 10 games, which includes an exhausting five overtime losses. Carolina played last night and will likely be going with No. 3 goalie Dustin Tokaski, which is good for goals in this game. Burns should be around +350 for a PP point in this spot.
Prop bet #2: Pierre-Luc Dubois + Connor McMichael + Nick Suzuki + Cole Caufield Over 0.5 points each
The Montreal Canadiens have been on a heater of late and are beating good teams on the road, including Vegas, Colorado, Tampa, and Florida. Montreal can absolutely be competitive tonight vs. the Washington Capitals, who will likely be going with their backup goalie in Charlie Lindgren, who has lost four straight games.
The Washington lines have been juggled, and that puts Pierre-Luc Dubois — fresh off an OT winner and third on the team in points — on the second line with Connor McMichael and Tom Wilson. PLD and McMichael also play together on the second power-play unit and are +220 each, which is another bet already in my account.
However, my NHL picks think this game has the most potential of the five tonight to have two-way scoring, and a simple double-double stack here is +600. Montreal is still getting a majority of its offense from Nick Suzuki and Cole Caufield, and the Washington second line is underrated and coming off a game where it generated every goal in a 2-1 win.
Prop bet #3: Connor Bedard + Tyler Bertuzzi + Patrick Kane + Alex DeBrincat o0.5 points each
This double-double stack is a combination of my two favorite double stacks of late. Chicago Blackhawks forwards Connor Bedard and Tyler Bertuzzi have combined for 14 of the team’s 37 goals over the last 30 days (38%) and have hit their stack in six of the last games. They are +190 alone for a point each, but the Detroit Red Wings are one of the hottest teams in hockey having won five in a row. Detroit is scoring tonight.
There is nothing wrong with a Dylan Larkin and Lucas Raymond stack, I just think the value is on Patrick Kane and Alex DeBrincat, who have cashed their stack in five straight games.
The Detroit power play is unstoppable right now, having produced four straight multi-goal games with the man advantage and going 10-for-19 over the last six games. Detroit is going to score tonight but the Chicago stack can hit even if the Hawks are held to two goals or fewer.
