Best NHL Player Props Today for Jan. 24: Pulock, Stock & Barrel

Josh Inglis' NHL player prop picks are on a roll! In addition to a daily double of linemate stacks for Friday night, Inglis has also found a point prop that's paying generously for Islanders defenseman Ryan Pulock.

Yesterday’s article went a cool 3-0 SU for a whopping +10.4 units. It’s been winners all week in my condensed card, and I’m looking forward to saying that tomorrow morning as well.

Today, I’m going back to the well with the Utah Hockey Club, hitting a mispriced point prop on the Island, and staying on the second line in Vegas, even in a tough matchup.

These are my three favorite NHL player props for Friday, January 24.

NHL prop picks and best bets for January 24

Today’s NHL prop picks and best bets

Matias Maccelli + Barrett Hayton Over 0.5 points each (+500 at bet365)

The Utah Hockey Club second line padded my pockets last night as the Matias Maccelli + Barrett Hayton prop hit in the first period for +475 vs. the Wild. It has now hit in three of the last four games and is even bigger today at +500 for both forwards to record a point.

It’s gotten longer thanks to a tough matchup vs. the Winnipeg Jets, but this is still the same team Utah saw two games ago and came away with a 5-2 win and this stack cashing.

I love second lines on the road and this Maccelli/Hayton stack is quickly becoming my favorite of the year. The 2+ point stack is 50/1, and Hayton has had a multi-point game in three of his last four.

Ryan Pulock Over 0.5 points (+145 at bet365)

Defenseman Noah Dobson is week-to-week so Ryan Pulock is going to move into a huge role for the New York Islanders, which will include a promotion to the top power play and a big increase in minutes.

Dobson is a minute-muncher, playing 24+ minutes a night. Pulock is going to absorb those minutes and push him from a 20-minute defender to a 24-minute one. That, combined with the PP role, will only increase his point projections, which books are always slow to adjust.

Dobson was around -110 for a point this year and even shorter last season. In this matchup vs. the Philadelphia Flyers, who might be rolling out one of the weaker goalies in the league in Ivan Fedotov, this prop should be 20 to 25 points shorter. His power-play point is also mispriced at +575 at bet365.

Pavel Dorofeyev + Tomas Hertl Over 0.5 points each (+200 at bet365)

This is up there with one of my favorite stacks of late. It hit again last night thanks to a Tomas Hertl empty net goal that was reviewed for offside. Mark Stone may be back, but Hertl and Pavel Dorofeyev have been holding up this Vegas golden Knights offense of late.

Hertl has points in seven straight games while Dorofeyev has collected at least one point in five of his last six games. It’s a tough matchup vs. the Dallas Stars on the second game of a back-to-back, but the second line will have the advantage of the weaker matchups from the Stars.

They might be a second line, but they both play on the first power play unit, which has a goal in seven straight games and is scoring at a 47% clip since January 11.
